I went to MK, and Epcot today, and got some pics of the progess on some of the projects around the world.

First I'll give you the pics of the Land. They are starting to put trees back in, and looks like they are beginning some prep work for paving.

I noticed that TimeTrip posted some pics of the castle and 20k in his thread, so if you want to look at mine feel free, but they are pretty much what has already been posted.

20k -- Trees have begun popping up from behind the walls, but these were the best pics I could get.

That last one came out a little fuzzy.

Crowds where pretty decent at MK, Splash had a 45 min wait, and BTMRR had a 40 min wait at around 1:30, SM had about a 50 min wait at about 1. CoP had some good crowd numbers, and some of the people in my theatre even started clapping along with "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" even though we had one emergency stop. Astro Orbiter still had the giant tarp covering it up.

Epcot wasn't too busy, TT broke down for a while, and the video game area in Innoventions is under refurb(sorry I don't have any pics, the camera battery went dead). That's all I can think of off the top of my head right now, it's kinda late, and the noise from the Daytona Speedway is starting to get to me :brick:. Hope you enjoy this little update!

Great pics! Thanks!

Noise from Daytona speedway? I'd love to be hearing that noise. Moreso in 2 weeks (or even in 1 week for the Bud Shootout), but still. I guess it's in my blood.

The Rolex 24 is going on right now. I don't mind it too much, it's just hard waking up and trying to get back to sleep when you can hear all that echoing into your dorm room. Glad you like the pics!

How close is your school to the track? It'd be cool to live that close, I was excited as a cp to just be as close as Orlando to Daytona International Speedway. Though I can see where it could get annoying. When I lived on campus at EKU, trains and a smoke stack on campus used to really annoy me. I'd hate to live on campus now at U of L, the campus has train tracks literally surrounding it and the airport is a couple miles down the road from campus. :hammer:

The only way for me to see the Rolex 24 is on Speed channel when it's on. :( Been checking on it all day, though none of my favorites are in it this year (last year Dale Jr. was in it). I'm hoping either the Labonte's or Jimmie Johnson and his team do well. The Labonte's have been in the top 10 most of the day, so it's looking kinda good for them.

Sorry for the thread drift. Amazing how I can relate almost anything to racing or disney. (I once went on a date to a bowling alley and kept relating the scores to driver numbers. :lookaroun )

Does anyone have info on if all of the refurbs taking place will be completed by the first week of Dec? I know that most of them will be, but are there any that won't? I want to prepare my Magical Gathering group for any that may be in progress when we arrive.

Thanks in advance for any and all info on this one.

We are about 1 mile from the track, maybe a little less than that.

Yea, the Land did look pretty messy, but from what it looks like they are starting to build back up, rather than destroy, so I guess that's a good thing?

Excellent pictures! :sohappy:

The more pics I see of the castle overlay, the more I really think that when all is said and done it will look fantastic. I really like the spirals and golden accents around the turrets....they actually add to the beauty of the castle, not detract from it. Earlier pics had me a little worried about what appeared to be garland-like swags around the turrets, but these pics have me thinking they look pretty good as well. Actually, I like what they've done a little more than the concept art which showed garlands strewn across with no real pattern....the actual look is much more symmetrical and organized looking....I really like the large ropes hanging from the middle of the swags.

I'm not upset at all about the "mess" in front of the Land. It is simply part of the progress of making it look great. They've already started replanting what appears to be a much larger planter than before, which is nice to see.

I too liked what I saw with the castle overlay so far. The spirals looked really cool as the glittered in the sun. It really was a neat effect.

Did they make the path up to the Land pavilion bigger? Doesn't seem like it from the pictures...was that part of the project?

(I thought they were re-working the front to accomodate for the larger crowds?)

As for the castle...lol...I think I'll hold my judgement on that until its finished...

Great update!

I was thinking the same thing, it actually looks like the pathway is a little narrower because it looks like they are expanding the landscaping. I could be wrongi though...
