Picking a time for F&W

I'm really tempted to try and go for the last weekend since we'd likely also get to see the castle Dream Lights and hopefully Osborne Lights. The crowd potential also worries me- i.e. last weekend rush, extra people for W&D half, etc.

In light of this, I'm looking at other time frames...maybe even weekdays. I want to avoid Columbus Day weekend and Oct 30-Nov 6 is off limits, but everything else is a possibility. Anyone have any thoughts on that last weekend or another time frame to look into/avoid?

For the last weekend this year I don't think the W&D half was the biggest issue...I think it being Veteran's Day weekend affected crowd levels more than anything. Saturday evening was the worst, it was the most crowded I've seen the World Showcase...and I was just there this past week. I'm guessing locals hit it up more often on the weekends and this was their last chance. Sunday afternoon was much better.

Very true- I know much of FL gets Veteran's Day off (schools/govt based orgs). I always forget- at least from a trip planning sense - since even our schools are in session for Veteran's Day here. My strategy was to hit F&W during the days and do other things during the evenings...just not sure if that is enough. I think it also may coincide with Jersey week. DH has become so anti-crowd after me planning several trips at low times, but the only time I can remember the crowd levels really getting to him were day before Thanksgiving in 2012. Still, I was thinking of your TR...thinking how it might be cool to stay Epcot area to see some of the race and then pop into some place like Kouzzina for a meal. Hmmm....
