Pick up tickets at guest relations w/o parking ?

Dear Disney Fans,
I was trying to find out the following without any luck yet, hoping that I did not oversee a post which may explain this to me:

We will be in Orlando this October and have to pick up our tickets at the guest relations (at any of the 4 major parks).

Having a tight schedule, we aim to visit one of your water parks on our first day (if weather allows). In advance to that, we would need to pick up the tickets, but we can't pick up our tickets at the water park.

In order to get to a guest relations at any of the 4 parks, we (2 adults, no one else with us) would need to get close with our car, leave the car to go to the guest relations and after that drive towards the water park.

Is there a precedure - similar to your drop-off procedure - to do so and avoid parking fees at the major parks (the water parks not charging for parking) ?
Parking at the water park and taking Disney transportation back and forward consumes pretty much time just to get the tickets ;-)

Thank you in advance for any hints.
Best regards for now

Best bet is to go to guest relations at Downtown Disney Marketplace. That location has the exact same ticket capabilities as the theme park GR (unlike the resorts that are more limited). You'll be able to park for free, get the tickets, and then enjoy DTD as well while you are there.

We were told by Disney to pick our tickets up at the guest relations at one of the 4 major parks ONLY (reduced tickets).
That location has the exact same ticket capabilities as the theme park GR
- so I wouldn't want to bet on it, that we get our reduced tickets also at any other GR ?!

If not, does anybody know how to get to GR of one of the 4 parks w/o parking there (ie avoid parking fees) ?

You could park at the Boardwalk and walk over to the International Gateway entrance to Epcot. There's a GR window there.

That being said, I've never heard of certain transactions being limited to a theme park Guest Relations location. The ones in Downtown Disney (there are two: one in the Marketplace, one outside DisneyQuest) are just like the ones at the parks.

The person you spoke to may have just been trying to differentiate the park Guest Relations windows from the Lobby Concierge (formerly "Guest Services") desks at the hotels...

If DTD doesn't work (which as Rob said should not be the case since it does have the exact same capabilities) you can park at the drop off lot at the TTC for a very short period of time and try to get your tickets there. I would recommend one person staying in the car though to avoid being towed.

You could also just ask the parking attendent.

Many times I needed to go to GR to get my Annual Pass, which would give me free parking. I just pulled up to the parking kiosk and said "I have to go to GR to get my AP" and in I went.

I have also driven in to go to lost and found (which is right next to TTC) and just told them that is where I was going.

But really, DTD should be able to handle it.

I agree that DTD should work. I've done my ticketing business there (both at Marketplace and Westside) on several occasions and never had any problems with getting APs, TIW card, water park tickets, etc. If for some reason DTD doesn't work, how about parking at Poly and taking the monorail to MK for GR. They'll let you park at Poly short term if you want to shop, eat or just check it out.

Just got the info from Disney yesterday, that guest relations at water parks would be able to help us too - despite the different original message.
Anything else would have astonished me very much.
Of course this info relates only to ticket pickup, i.e. don't know if there is any difference regarding the guest relations offices' capabilities. I mention this only for others that might read this thread.
For me, my info needs are satisfied.
I will update here once back if all worked fine (back @ beginning of Nov 2010).
Thank you so far for the info.

actually Downtown Disney does not have the ability to print tickets from the COMP ticket system for VIP held comps (usually a 6 or 7 digit number starting with the number 7 or 8) that are held by guest-name.

@ImaYoyo: Yes, our tickets are in that number range. Good to know, so I don't drive to DownTown, in case Waterparks don't work despite the info.

Can someone confirm that water parks have the capability to issue comp tickets based on the ATS/GTS number ?

Despite the positive info from WDW Germany (calling US for me), I just got a negative response of WDW Online Communications to a quite old email stating that water park's guest relations don't have that capability and that only the gues rel. at one of the 4 major parks would have it. :hammer::confused:
So I intend to simply give the Guest Relations office directly at the water park a call.

Does anybody have a phone number of Blizzard Beach's guest relations ? The only numbers I was able to find was a general Disney Guest relations.

The easiest thing to do it to park at the boardwalk and walk over to international gateway. They GR is right there and you can enjoy the boardwalk to and from the park. It is about a 5 -10 minute walk from the parking area.

Why not just part at the Poly? It's right next to the TTC.

I do believe you can just simply tell the tooth booth you're just going to pick up your ticket, go through to the drop-off, leave someone with the car for a few minutes and get your tickets that way.

Certain ticket types MUST be gotten at the parks specifically. (Give A Day, Get A Day and previously HCOE are two such examples.)

We are two in our party and BOTH need to be physically present @ GR to pick up the tickets.
@rangerbob: Park at the boardwalk - do you have any further directions or map for me that illustrates this easily to me so I don't have to search a lot ? Thanx a lot in advance. :sohappy:
My goal is to pick up the tickets w/o paying for parking :D

Right. Which is why I said park at the Poly. As in the Polynesian resort? Just follow the signs, tell the guard you're just visiting and you can park for free for a couple hours. It's right next door - literally - to the TTC.

I second the poly parking. Just tell them you want to eat there or something. You will get a pass for a few hours.... The TTC is right beside the poly... you could even take the monorail as well.

Cheers!!

If you are going to the TTC, the Poly is the closest. But really, there is no need to tell them you are going to eat, or anything like that.

There have been a number of times when I had to go to GR and had not checked in yet, and did not have my AP. I simply told the gate attendant that was there to go to guest relations and they let me in.

Why not just pick up the tickets on the day you actually go to the park?

The is what the whole thread is about: Get the tickets (comp x days with hopper and water park option) at the GR at the 4 major parks but visit one of the water parks on the first day. The water park's GR is not able to issue our tickets. I intend to not pay parking at the major parks as parkingn is free at the water parks. I also want to prevent e.g. parking at the water park, take the transportation to the GRs and back to the water park ...

So, what I read so far Poly, would be really in walking distance so we only need some little minutes. I'll try to find a map or something to see this in further detail. If someone has something more detailed (e.g. links etc.) feel free to post here.

This overviewmap

gives you and idea of the distance.

On the following map with two alternatives for parking

I was wondering where to park best (alternative 1 or 2, see red, numbered arrows from me) and how far the distance is , especially if it is walking distance.
Is alternative 1 only for handicapped Disney lovers ?
Is alternative 2 free parking too ?

PS Can't wait to be there again ;-)
