Finally acknowledging an extremely difficult business climate right now, Disney announced in a Wednesday evening press release that Mannequins, 8TRAX and Comedy Warehouse would reopen prior to the 4th of July holiday weekend. According to Downtown Disney Vice-President Keith Bradford, "we've been ordered by California to get the clubs show-ready." "We know we made a goofy mistake in closing things," Bradford acknowledged. He went on to say that recent surveys show that guests are not asking for more dining and shopping options, they want the clubs back.
The reopened clubs will be very similar to the original clubs and they plan to get as many of the previous cast members back on duty as possible. "We think we can make millions of dollars with the three clubs reopened rather than just letting them sit there empty. That's just stupid," Bradford said.
