Photopass

This is my first time going to Disney. I'm bringing my camera but I heard it's a good deal to get the photopass. Thoughts on this and how many people can be in on this? We have a bigger group going and all family.

I'm pretty sure the number of people don't matter. They just have to be associated with your account and they can scan their magic bands. I thought it was pretty cool. Most of the character meet and greets have the photopass people with them. And you can just download them straight to your phone. Also the rides that take your picture also populate in your photopass.

Most photopass CM will shoot with your camera if you kindly ask. If you purchase the option, you will have attraction photos also (but you can also take a picture of the tv screen with your camera) the cool thing about photopass are the "magic" photos, which can be a unique keepsake of your trip. I am an AP gold so it's included, and my wife and I definately use it. I believe only one needs to be purchased for your group. Anyone else confirm this?

I'm pretty sure of this as well. My mom bought it before she took our family. And it didn't matter whose band they scanned. We were all linked with her account on the Disney App.

Yes, we've linked 8 people (3 family units) on our Memory Maker last summer. Just be aware that only the person buying Memory Maker will be able to do edits (I think -- at least that's how it was lat year). Anyone linked can see and download the pictures though. The people in my group were my kids so after we got home from our trip, I changed my MDE password to something temporary and gave that password to the kids so they could log into my account and make the edits they wanted to. I just made sure to remind them over an over again to always create a copy of the picture before doing any edits so we always had the original. After we were finished with the edits and downloads, I changed my password back to my regular password so that no one else could sign into my account and accidentally change anything in my MDE account.

Also wanted to mention that while you *can* take a picture of the monitors showing the ride pictures, I believe they all (or most) now have some type of a watermark over them so you can't use the picture for anything (this is only on the screen. If you have Memory Maker, it won't show on the actual downloads/pictures). And there are some rides that don't have the monitors. The pictures automatically go to your account (via your Magic Band) so I think on the newer rides, they don't have the monitors (7DMT is the one that comes to mind, but I think there were others).

We love Memory Maker. We always end up with over 200 unique pictures and closer to 1,000 when I'm finished editing. We find it well worth the money. We make sure to stop for pictures whenever we see a photographer with no line (or a short line). And I always ask if they do a magic shot.

The 7DMT one was one of my favoirite. It also uploaded a video that shows slow motion of you riding it.
