Photopass photographers question

So I've never done the photopass service, lol a few professional photographers (definitely not me) in my family that travel with us and we really don't like the ride pictures. anyway for this trip I'm going with the "Golden girls" and I'm thinking we would like a few snapshots of the 4 of us all together.

Here's my question, do you have to get a "package"? can you have the photographers take the picture and then purchase one or two pictues sort of ala carte?

If you are only going to want a few pictures the photographer can use your camera and you don't need to pay for the package. I don't remember the cost of individual pictures.

Even if the photographer takes a photopass photo and gives you one of their cards or scans your band, you can purchase individual prints for $12 each? or so.

IMHO, the only time it is worth it to get the Memory Maker package is when you will be staying for a few days or a week or more and you know you will have many photos taken that you will likely purchase - so 17 or more.

Individual photo downloads are about $15 each. As mentioned above, all Photopass photographers (or any cast member) will take a picture using your camera if you ask. I have lots of great photos taken by cast members on my iPhone.

I highly recommend handing off your own personal camera or phone to the Disney Photopass photographers. Just make sure it's set the way you want it for your pics. We don't do a lot of the staged pics and aren't big into ride pics or magic shots, but if I have to have a staged shot at one of these Photopass locations...this is the way to go. Disney individual photo prices are high, so it adds up fast.
