PhotoPass photo quality

Hey everybody. I was looking at our PhotoPass photos from our trip, and the picture quality seems to be rather poor. Is this just how they display to make sure people don't pirate the pictures, or is this pretty true to how they'd print out if we ordered them?

They are displayed online in lower resolution, probably for that reason along with bandwidth, etc. The pictures you order should look a lot better.

Our pics that we got on a c.d was very good quality, like people above have said, the quality will be lower on their photopass site due to bandwidth etc...

The quality is very good, we used a picture we took in front of the castle as our save the dates for our upcoming wedding. We have been receiving nothing but compliments on it. They are worth it, in our opinion.

It depends on what "quality" you're referring to. The only thing that you should ignore when previewing images is resolution. As others have stated, these are basically facebook-profile-preview-quality images.

If, however, the qualities that you are referring to are things like composition, focus, lighting, etc., then no, the high-res versions should not magically appear to "fix" a problem that you can see in the preview image.

Also, the vibrancy of color in the high-res versions will be much better than the very muted display-for-web preview images.

This is a very good point and an important clarification.

Agreed.

It's not going to make the picture-taking better. In the past I've had great pics of us in front of the castle at night where we, the partners statue and the castle looked great (you need a longer exposure for this) but most of the ones I got now are exposed for us and the castle is in the dark. Bad picture taking. Most were framed/composed well
