Never been to Philly and we are connecting there on us airways in September, it says we must change terminals. We have a little over an hour.. Is the airport easy to navigate?

If I remember correctly, all the terminals are in one long building, so yes it's easy to navigate, but it might be a bit of a walk.

I've only ever flown in and out of the international terminal, so I cannot say for certain.

I really hate to connect in Philly and avoid it whenever possible. On our first experience changing planes there we had a delay leaving Providence (Warwick) so our connection was tight. We had to not only run to the other end of the terminal, but we also had to go through security again, which was absurd. Another time we literally sat on the runway waiting to pull up to our gate for a half hour because there was another plane there. Again another tight connection.

Take a look at the Philly airport map.

Is one of your flights on US Airways Express? If so, it'll go into Terminal F. You'll then have to connect to your Orlando flight in Terminals A-C. It's a bit of a hike.

One thing you could try is to look up your particular flight numbers on a couple different days to get a feel for what gates they tend to use. Then you can know the general area where your flights will be in the future.

If I may give my professional opinion. I avoid Philly at all costs! Connections can be very tight and difficult to make. Air traffic into and out of Philly always seems to be subject to delays and holding. I fly for a living and I always hear the inbound flights getting their holding instructions. No thanks! Like I said, I avoid it at all costs.

That is my home airport and I have never had an issue. In fact, being from NY I find philly much easier than la guardia and Kennedy.

I believe the original poster was concerned about a connection. Origination traffic will always be easier since you are not connecting there.

If you don't want to walk between F and A or B there is a shuttle bus. We avoid Philly more because it's USAir more than the airport. They are often backed up and delayed flights abound.

This is where I usually fly out of. It is not the greatest airport to deal with. The people that work there are not helpful. Any question is an inconvenience. Delays can be a problem, however I haven't had one going to Disney(knock on wood).

I know the OP's trip has come and gone, but since this unfortunately is my home airport and it's so bad I must rip it every chance I get hoping some high level decision maker will see this and take some action. First and foremost, it's run by the city ! Almost everything run by the city of Philly is in complete shambles and disrepair. As mentioned, workers unfriendly and put off when they have to do something or answer a question. Most workers can't even answer your question correctly anyway ! Airport is dark and outdated in most terminal area's. And if you arrive on a flight after 10 pm expect to see an uncleaned gate area or 2. If you are using PHL as a connection allow yourself AT LEAST an hour !! Very busy airport and some connecting flights can be in a different terminal.
