Phantom Reservation?

The quick (ish) version of my question: Has anyone ever had an experience where they seemingly secured reservations, including confirmation number and the reservation showing up in the app, only to be told upon arrival that there is no reservation?

My reason for concern: I've had one lightsaber reservation I was able to book right when my 60 day window opened (that reservation is for 9:05 AM). I have been trying in vain to get a second reservation utilizing multiple alert apps. Today I received a alert from one of the apps that a reservation was available on my desired day at 11:25 AM. And I actually got it! It's two hours after the other reservation, but that was fine, we were OK with it. 15 minutes later, I received what I assumed was the same reservation alert from the other app. Same date, same time of 11:25 AM. I clicked out of curiosity and, wonder of wonders, was able to book another slot for 11:25 AM!

Both 11:25 AM reservations are showing up on the Disney website and on the app, under separate reservation numbers. So I have to believe they are both true, separate reservations. I just find it so odd that that A) the same exact time would come up twice in a row and B) each time, I received an alert from only one of my reservations apps, not both at once.

I want to cancel the original 9:05 AM reservation to throw it up for someone else to be able to use, but I also don't want to show up with two people at 11:25 AM just to be told that we actually only have one slot reserved.

This is very long-winded. Hopefully it makes sense, and someone out there will be able to calm my fears. Thanks in advance!

If you're nervous, you could confirm with WDW directly before you drop the initial reservation, but I wouldn't be concerned if I were you, and the two reservations for 11:25am are showing up correctly in MDE. (I'd screenshot the confirmation numbers just to be safe, but I do that with all of my reservations, everywhere.)

It's not unusual for one app to catch an opening before another: they run their searches repeatedly, but not necessarily at the same times. Perhaps somebody dumped two or more separate 11:25 reservations, and they simply didn't reenter the inventory at exactly the same moment, or maybe WDW added more slots for that time period and they didn't come online simultaneously.

I would be fairly certain that both are fine because as you said they are under two distinct reservation numbers.
It wouldn’t be unusual that a two person reservation from the same family was cancelled or two different people cancelled. Many people decide they can do without costly items after the bookings are made.
As recommended above, call if you are concerned to verify.

Just make sure you keep a screenshot of the confirmation number because I have shown up to a Disney restaurant before and they were unable to find my reservation by name. But they found it once I gave them the number. I don't depend on the Disney app for that because I've had reservations drop off the system or the app just not work during my trips. Always screenshot for proof!

Thanks all! I did call and the person I spoke to confirmed the two single reservations on their end too so I think I've done as much as I can to make myself confident that I do, in fact, have two spots.

I am now going through and doing screenshots of ALL reservations, as it had never occurred to be to do so before. So thank you for that tip, as well.
