thedisneyblog.com has a "petition" (more of a public request) to have a tombstone restored to the graveyards outside The Haunted Mansion in Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

The tombstone in question reads:
RIP
Cousin Victor
He Brewed A
Batch
of Bad Elixir

And was in honor of imagineer Vic Greene. The tombstone was removed at the request of his window shortly after he died in 1972. The request to have it restored, 42 years later, is from one of Vic's grandchildren.

Seems like a valid request, but the guy doesn't know who he can reach out to at Disney to make said request.

If the other family members who wanted it removed previously are ok with it returning, then I think this is cool idea.

Maybe reach out to Jeff Heimbuch from the Communicore Weekly podcast (and another Disney site I don't feel I will name). He wrote a biography for and with Rolly Crump, and seems to have some connections with some of the other old school Imagineers who are still with us. I don't know if he has any official affiliation with Disney at this point, but he seems to have some connections and may be a good "back door" approach. This isn't a plug of any sort, and I don't know the man personally, but he does seem to have some access, or could possibly point you in the right direction. Even if he can't help, this sounds like something he could get onboard with.

I wrote the original petition, and it is more like a public request, because I think 42 years after his death is more than enough time to grieve. My grandfather's widow is long dead, but his children are still alive. I haven't spoken to all of them, but the ones I have don't object. There are now great-grandchildren for Grandpa Vic and soon they will have children of their own. I think they deserve to see their grandfather's credit restored.
