This sounds horrible to me, it was bad enough to me to see the older carrie fisher as princess leia (she didn't hold age well honestly), but I cant see anyone else playing her. I understand 9 was supposed to be her character arc and she was supposed to be huge in it, but give as an alternative history book or cartoon of what we were supposed to get. Worst case I'm ok with cgi (hopefully they do better than they did with her in rogue one, tarken was great but carrie not as much), but I don't want to see anyone else play her, totally takes you out of the movie experience. Shes gone, I think the story needs to change to her not being a part of it. And from what I saw from episode 8, I don't think they even knew what was going to happen in episode 9 when she past.

Putting her in Episode 9 would be like killing her off all over again. I say Leia gets to retire somewhere and let Force ghost Luke work with Rey.

have her on a mission, or kill her off, or put it 10 years in the future.. she helped rey with the force and her new lightsaber then died of old age off camera.. maybe do some flashback/ memories using either clips or cgi. Heck you could have her on a mission somewhere and hologram her (star wars has done this multiple times, most recently with maz).

Meryl Streep has gone off the deep end. Though I wouldn't put it past the directors after the whole "Leigh is superman in space" thing.
