Personal Watercraft Tours Come to Castaway Cay

Castaway Cay, Bahamas (Disney Cruise Line) -- Disney Cruise Line Guests will soon be able to get to know Castaway Cay like a native. The latest shore excursion on Disney's private island is a personal watercraft tour. Knowledgeable tour guides will take groups on a fascinating one-hour eco adventure as they learn about the area's abundant marine life, unique ecology and storied history.
First, the guide will lead the way to a scenic stop amid the mangroves, where Guests will learn about Castaway Cay's intriguing ecosystem. Then, it's off to a second point of interest, where he or she will describe the colorful history of The Bahamas. Guests may ride either singly or in pairs on this exciting journey.
The tour will leave from Boat Beach and head to the southwest side of the island. From there it will continue to the sandbar between Castaway Cay and Sandy Point. The water depths range from five feet to about 40 feet throughout the journey.
This excursion is sold as a guided tour and not a free style watercraft activity. However, Guests will have the opportunity to ride at a fairly brisk speed between tour stops. Watercrafts will be governed to go at speeds nearly 35 miles per hour.
All Guests will be given instructions on how to operate the crafts as well as a comprehensive safety briefing.
