The buzz on Twitter is that Maingates are being taken away from CPs, 3rd Party & Seasonal CMs and their discounts are being reduced. Anyone have more info? When I was CP we didn't get maingates

That isn't entirely true. Instead of just getting Maingates like before, now they are based on how many hours are worked. I don't remember numbers exactly but 300 hours = 3 passes, 600 hours = 6 passes, 900 hours = 9 passes. This is for seasonal for sure, possibly CPs, but I don't know anything about 3rd party. I also haven't heard anything about discounts being reduced.

@danlb_2000, Maingates are CM's free guest tickets.

CM's can go whenever they want, they are just limited to the number of times they can allow 3 other people to enter with them with their pass.
They are subject to block out dates, not only for their guest passes, but also for themselves occasionally. Self admit block out dates are usually the really busy times, like Christmas at MK & a few Star Wars weekends have been self block outs

I can confirm that Maingates are still on the seasonal; I had to ask around myself about this at WDW last week on what still is included. Things changed slightly in terms of discounts {1 year = 10% off, 2 years = 10-25% off, 3 years =25-35% off} Food is always 20% off regardless from what I was told.

All blockout dates apply as far as I know. Unless you're working on those dates directly

It is just being phased like this for seasonal employees, third party employees (Planet Hollywood, etc) and Disney Store. CP's, part time and the rest will keep full maingate access and usage. They are phasing out the seasonal employment (just have to work 150 hours or more during a calendar year) to provide for more CPs, and part and full time employees. These employees will still get self admission, but the guest access will be phased like mentioned above, more you work the more you get to bring guests.

I think that's bonkers. Working at Universal, you are granted admission to the parks 365 days a year (as well as Seaworld and Busch Gardens) and any special event (Halloween Horror Nights) whether you're seasonal, PT or FT. I also think it's crazy CM's have to pay up and give their money back to Disney if they want to do Very Merry or Not-So-Scary.

It's just a matter of time before this benefit cut is applied to all CM's at WDW, All the low hanging fruit for cuts is gone now they need to move up the chain. Of course the best CM's will quit and find other jobs and be replaced with low cost CP'ers or recent immigrants neither of which have any investment in going above and beyond the minimums expected to stay employed. But they will be cheap and that's all Burbank cares about these days.

Yup CP'ers who pay about 30% of their pay to Disney for rent and H2B's (low skilled service workers) for the rest, Ah the joy of bringing back the company town and indentured servitude. Stomping on a hundred years of progress for labor. Isn't Disney GREAT!

You know what's funny?
I watched someone try to use a "maingate" last month in front of me. She didn't know the name of the CM, it was given to her third party so obviously there was no CM to meet her at the gate. Suspicious. She was denied entry.

So CMs have a main entrance pass they can use to self admit, and bring in guests (guest passes) for days not blocked out. And also get a few comped tickets twice a year I think. So what in the heck was this person trying to use to get in?

Even with a guest pass, I believe the CM must be present at the gate when being used.

I would've just used the name of one of my friends from magic like Goofydad18 or ILuvAriel.
