People Mover - thumbs up or down?

I was reading elsewhere that rumors are PM might be coming back in 2007. (Stress these are rumors.)

It got me thinking. My initial reaction was 'YAHOO!" Bring them back. I can remember riding them as a kid. And I like TTA in WDW.

But then I thought, ya but. Is bringing back PM really a good idea? Old ride, old technology - would it really be worth it.

So, I thought I would toss it out there - what do you think? If you were on the WDI team, what would you do to make the ride 'better' - if you changed anything.

I will toss out my thoughts on the latter question. I think the ride would be cool if somehow it could be expanded. Not circle the park because we have the train for that; but something similar. Maybe redo the Fantasy Gardens area and build a new house for the PM to go through - A Great Disney Movie Ride type of motif maybe. The ride takes you not into movies but puts you into Disney movies. Or maybe not movies, but into Disney past and Future (Horizons meets Disneyland.)

Those are my thoughts, what do you think?

I can't iamgine it would be too difficult or expensive to bring back, half the airports in the world have one version or another of a peoplemover, so the technology is pretty available. I have not been on the Disneyland version, but I think it would be fine for a simple ride, especially for those looking for something to just chill a little on. They could always do a dark ride portion or something. Perhaps some scenes from the old World of Disney shows for Tomorrowland (if it goes inside anywhere).

I'd love to see the people mover come back to DL. They could rename it to the TTA like at WDW, and have a new narration like WDW's TTA. Although, what I'd do is:

The track will be fixed so that there are no more inclined and declined planes in the track.

Cut short the part where you go over the Autopia, because that part has always been way too long.

For the Tron Tunnel, maybe add something like a galaxy map or something neat.

It would be nice if they brought it back. However the DL version was way slow. I mean seriously people walking were faster than the PM. So I would speed it up a bit, and maybe add a marginal storyline. But other than that it is a scenic look at TL.
