What a terrible world we live in, 30 people killed by terrorist so far in Paris tonight.
Doubtful. Why do I have a feeling Disneyland Paris will be closed the next day?
That's got to be the most insensitive comment I've read on here in a while! Why do I have a feeling Disneyland Paris will be closed the next day?
CNN is reporting 153+Last I heard 140+![]()
I wasn't being insensitive, I knew Disneyland Paris was going to do this which they actually did! That's got to be the most insensitive comment I've read on here in a while!
You missed the point. Most people's first thoughts on hearing that terrorists were gunning down dozens of people wouldn't be about whether a theme park would stay open or not.I wasn't being insensitive, I knew Disneyland Paris was going to do this which they actually did!
This falsely assumes the comments were his first thoughts and that there was strain over the park being opened. It is also a bit of self righteousness as we ultimately do ignore many deaths every day and instead chose to be more concerned about a theme park. You missed the point. Most people's first thoughts on hearing that terrorists were gunning down dozens of people wouldn't be about whether a theme park would stay open or not.
In the large scale, these types of events are occurring less frequently. We are progressing towards world peace. Just in the US, it will take only a few days for just as many people to die because we want to live isolated in suburbs but get places quickly. It's sickening. It angers me that this is becoming the new norm, as we get all too used to hearing of horrific stories such as this every couple of years. It angers me even more that all this loss of innocent life is caused by "our magical unicorn is better than yours" mentality. My heart goes out to the people of Paris who are impacted by this needless hate & insanity.
In the large scale, these types of events are occurring less frequently. We are progressing towards world peace.
With the title of this thread being about the senseless killings going on in Paris, the last thing on my mind would be to comment about whether an amusement park would be open or not. Those comments might be appropriate on other threads.I wasn't being insensitive, I knew Disneyland Paris was going to do this which they actually did!
That graph implies that there was no terrorism before 1970, which is just complete nonsense, and that peace is defined as the absence of this particular definition of post-1970 terrorism. You actually believe that?
