Peak crowd WiFi performance

Thought it would be interesting to see how Disney's Wifi is performing tonight around the parks during this peak crowd level.

Wifi is obviously going to be essential for MyMagic+.

At DHS at 9:30pm on a packed Hollywood Blvd I'm getting 3mb down and 1mb up. Very usable so far.

Anyone got reports from other parks?

I spent the day at epcot and it was very hit and miss. Sometimes no delay and sometimes I had go back to lte (which wasn't much better). I think the bottleneck on the system might be the content filter they are using. During peak times today I got several errors from the content filter while browsing the web.

Disney after dark content? ;)

Not sure if anyone has filled out a survey recently, but they are getting very detailed information about WiFi performance at resorts and parks. So, it's obviously being worked on.

Works much better than using the wireless network. That was spotty for signals tonight at best. At NYE 1.5 years ago, the wireless network was dead with no signal from 9:30 pm until we left property.

The wifi has been pretty dang nice over the past week. It is by no means able to punch through every square foot of property, but if you go outside or inside depending on if you have or do not have a signal, the other will more than likely get you one.

I for one have been more than pleased.

There seems to be big improvement. On new years eve, I couldn't get anything at all to load with the massive crowds. Tonight, at Epcot, about the same level of crowds, and I was able to load things. It was slower than a typical day, but it at least worked.

Going by reports, things do seem to be improving. And things better be improving because if they're adding so much reliance on next gen then Wifi is an integral part - especially for those without a US mobile (cellular:p ) data plan.

Its improving Yes, studios is a great example. But if youre looking for a full-on system test of simultanious users, it still didnt work.

I have not used it yet but probably will in August. Hopefully Disney continues to improve the service, as I hate bad wifi. But it sounds pretty good so far, so I'll go see for myself.

I found it to be VERY unreliable these past 5 days that I've been here. Sometimes, it zips by like I'm at my home. Others, I get an error message. Still others, I get kicked off the wifi and find I'm on Verizon. Finally, there are other times when I'm on it and it's just slooooow. I'm on an iPhone 4S. The wife is on the iPhone 5. Same results for us both.

Just curious, which of the carries have set up their LTE networks to give coverage @ The World? Do any of them actually give LTE signal into any of the parks? Would sure be nice to be able to fall back to LTE if wifi was down or unbearably slow.

I'm surprised that it was working for you and especially that you got such fast speeds. I was at Magic Kingdom and Epcot the last 2 days and was unable to connect to WiFi at all. Each time I would get the '503 Service Unavailable error' shown below. I tried to connect to Disney's WiFi dozens of times throughout the two days and was never able to use it. My wife had the same problem with her iPhone and she has a different carrier.
