Paying full

I am going to pay my trip off this Friday, but I was wondering if I should hold off until the last possible day? If I pay my trip off in full, and a new special shows up...will Disney still be willing to allow me to take advantage of the new special? I know with cruise lines, once you pay in full, they aren't as willing to apply new discounts to your reservation. I was thinking about paying all but $1 of my Disney reservation off on Friday.

If you change your reservation when you're less than 45 days away from check in, you may be subject to a change fee. You also need to be paid in full by the 45 day mark, so they kind of go hand in hand, but it doesn't matter if you pay before that date.

As was mentioned earlier, if you have a package reservation and a promotion for your dates & resort is released, and you are under 45 days before you check in (and therefore paid in full), there is a change fee and they do usually charge it. But your savings with the promotion could still make it well worth paying the fee. However, if you make a change that costs you more, they usually don't charge the change fee.

I know the idea is usually to save money, but if you could, for example, upgrade your resort for just a few dollars more, you would get the upgraded resort experience, bigger room, etc, for only a little more, and not have to pay the change fee...or add a night to your stay...or ask if adding a day to your tickets will "cost you more" and therefore waive the fee....just some thoughts....

Have a Magical time!!!

I paid in full early on our last trip because we missed the offer that was going on during the time we'd be there. We called one last time, and they had one of the discounts available! I couldn't believe it. Well, to make a long story short, they applied the discount to our account and credited the difference back onto the credit card I used to pay off the account. No fees and it was very painless. Few days later, the credit showed up on my credit card account.

EDIT: I would have to look at the dates, but I'm pretty sure I was more than 45 days out when this happened.

That has happened to me before. Disney does take care of you provide you with the credit. The only problem is you have to go to the Customer Service center at the Parks themselves. They can't help you on the phones or the hotels (only if it is ticket related).
