Passport and Others Items

Hello

I am traveling on the Disney Dream leaving and returning at Port Canaveral. My passport has an expiration date of 8/8/2017 and we return to the Florida on 2/3/2017 so my passport just barely made it from the 6 months expiration rule.

Do you think I should I bring my drivers licenses and birth certificate just in case? If so does the birth certificate need to the original or can I bring a copy?

Neither the US nor the Bahamas have the 6 month rule in regards to passports, so you will be fine.

You should be fine, but I would still take your BC and DL. It is so much easier to have it and not need it than it is to leave it behind and have someone ask for it.

It needs to be a certified copy to be valid. (eg you just cant run your BC through a xerox machine)

If you only have the original, you can get a certified copy online from pretty much any state in a few weeks. We had to get them from Hawaii (shipping to Florida) for my wife and it only took about 2 weeks.

We can just go to our local civic building and get a certified copy of our birth certificate in a few minutes, but you have to have been born there, of course. I always travel with my drivers license even when I have my passport.

Same here, you can get certified copies, but only from the municipality that registered you when you were born. That's only about 30 miles away for me, but for some people it's a lot farther. Last time I needed to get some (for my kids passports) I just got 3 or 4 copies. They are only around $5 (at least in that town) so why not get a few just in case.
