PassPlus option for Annual Passes

When I read the title of this other thread: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?p=1996126#post1996126

I thought of something much different - something I had formally asked for back in 1991. I was an annual passholder, but still in high school. Although I could go to the park on a whim, that was a lot of money for any one of my friends to fork out for a day or less buying a 1 day ticket. And certainly not something they would want to do more than once a year. (This was way back before the tiered annual pass system.) I ended up subsidizing or fully paying for many single day tickets because I wanted to share the time with a friend.

I asked for some sort of feature on the Annual Passport, where I would pay full price for another annual pass, and would allow me to bring a guest of my choosing. Nothing ever came of it but a courteous form letter. I'm curious though, what do you all think of the idea? Would you find it valuable?

I could see definitely see a value in it. The annual pass we have for the Jacksonville Zoo is kind of similar to what you are suggesting. Our AP at the zoo allows us to bring in up to 4 adults and 7 kids (under 18). The only person that has to present any form of ID is the pass holder. If Disney did something like this instead of buying 5 separate AP's for my family I would buy 1 AP and 4 guests that way if I was there by myself or one or more of our kids did not come there with us we could get other friends and or family in. There in probably lies the reason why Disney won't do this. It is pretty safe to say that Disney has done some level of research on this scenario and has determined that they would not profit from it or would to some degree loose money on it.

I have to agree. Types of "Pass Plans" that let you bring in people for free is used to increase attendance. They can always make money on you in other ways once you're in the park (i.e. food, drinks, t-shirts, etc.). But Disney doesn't seem to have a problem in this area.

They do offer other deals (such as cheaper hotel prices) during the slower times of year in order to try and get people there. But I don't see them offering "free admission" any time soon.
