Party with Mixed Transportation (Brightline/Flights): What's the best way to navigate MCO's Terminal C?

Quick question. We're flying into Orlando from Western NY in a couple of weeks, and meeting up with my college-aged son, who will have taken the Brightline from a swim team training sesson in Palm Beach to MCO, to spend a couple of days with us.

I've watched enough videos and scanned enough maps that I'm comfortable with how we can all get to Terminal C baggage claim from our respective gates/station to meet up on arrival.

The challenge will be when we all head back -- him getting back on the Brightline, and the rest of us booked on a flight out of Terminal C that departs 40 minutes after his train. Is there any simple way for us all to get dropped off together (well ahead of time, of course), grab a bite to eat, and then head off to our respective departure points? I may just be doing it wrong, but when I try to map out a path for the flyers to get to Terminal C security from the train station (which isn't ideal anyway, as there doesn't appear to be anywhere we could all eat near the train station), or for the train rider to get from landside Terminal C to the Brightline station, on the MCO app, it basically tells me "you can't get there from here." If there's no way to do this, that's fine: we'll just ask to get separate dropoffs at the train station and Terminal C Departures curb and fend for ourselves as far as food, but if we can, it would be a nice way to end our time together.

Any insights from the MCO experts would be much appreciated. :)

You can walk between them as the Brightline station is adjacent to the peoplemover that connects Terminal C to Terminals A and B. So if the signage is spotty that’d still be the general direction to go.

The app seems to be weird if you select “Train Station” as the destination. Choosing “Brightline - Orlando Train Station” located at “C5 - Trains & Parking” seems to work.

You can apply for a visitor's pass to get your son through security at Terminal C and have a meal in the terminal.

Or if you can find a dirt cheap throwaway plane ticket, that works too.

You can pay $50 for a pass to get your son through security at Terminal C and have a meal in the terminal.

When did the start charging for the visitor pass? The website doesn’t say anything.
