Party Ticket for Child Turning Three

Hi folks,

We are going to Walt Disney World this September and will be there on our son's third birthday.

Because we will be checking in before his third birthday, we have been told -- both by Disney and by our travel agent -- that he is counted as two years old for purposes of room occupancy, park tickets, dining plan, etc. In other words, he essentially will be free as any two year old would be, even though he technically turns three during the visit.

My question is concerning Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. The date we are anticipating attending will be two days after his birthday. Are we required to purchase him a party ticket for that day, or does that follow with the whole "he's treated as two for the entire visit" policy and he gets in free?

To be clear, I'm not trying to cheat or misrepresent his age or anything like that. I want to play by the rules. But if the rules say I can save the cost of one party ticket, I'll take it. :-)

Thanks,
Tom

honestly and I will prob get flamed. But why does it matter 2-3? Its a date that is picked by Disney or any company because they have to have a cut off date (be it 2,3,4,5). Your kid wont notice any difference and hasn't made any huge growth in that week so hes basically still 2 mentally and physically.
My point? These parties are super expensive (worth it though) you are paying for the adults, I wouldn't feel bad not saying anything and just going without getting him a ticket. No one will know and they cant check his id. If you are on a budget like me, I cant see paying for him just because hes a few days older (especially due to the cost), in addition you are paying for yourselves already, you aren't hurting or cheating Disney in all honesty.

We went through this last December with my grandson. He turned 2 two days after we arrived and we went to the Christmas party 2 days later. We bought our tickets the day if the party and were told to have a last time celebrating with him before we have to pay! They said because he was 2 when our trip started, he was 2 for the entire trip.

No need for ticket. Nice job planning a trip at the tail end of his third year! Buffets are still free for him too. Enjoy it. Next time you go, you only save like $5 on him lol.
