Parts of party coming on different days? How does that work?

I am currently planning a trip to Disney with my friends. We are going to be staying onsite. Due to scheduling issues, some parts of my party can only come towards the end of the trip. So basically, me and 1 friend will be staying in the room for the whole trip, the 3rd to the 9th. Our other 2 friends will be joining us from the 5th to the 9th. Me and friend 1 will also have more park days than the other 2 friends.

We spoke to a Disney cast member on the phone, and this is the advice she gave us, but we just wanted to make sure this was right. She told us to make the hotel reservation under just me and friend 1's name. Then, once the other 2 friends arrive, go to the front desk and add them to our reservation. The resort will then add an extra 15 dollars per person per day to the bill, but that this is cheaper than making the reservation under all of our names for the whole trip. Then, we will buy our park tickets separately and we can all link them to my account, so we can then get the same LLs for the days we are together.

I have never heard about doing this before, so i just wanted to make sure this was right before putting down a payment. Will this be possible? Also, if we did end up putting all of our names down for the hotel, would we all have to be present to check in? Also, does the two members of our party make that much of a difference in the hotel price?

If you’re all on the reservation for the whole time you will pay an additional fee for 2 people per night.
So the CM’s suggestion makes sense in that respect.
The extra cost varies according to where you stay. I think it starts at $15 pppn at the Value resorts.

Buying the tickets separately rather than booking a package is correct too.

However what she said about the tickets and LLs is BS. 🙄
1. Tickets have to be linked to each individual.
2. Unless your friends are on the reservation they will not get the 7 day advance booking. So you won’t be able to book for them at the same time as the two of you on the reservation. You could however book for them 3 days before the start date of their tickets. It might not be possible to get some of the popular rides at that point.

With that in mind, if you plan to buy LLs it might be worth it to you just paying the extra cost per person.

Anyone listed on the reservation can check in, so no problems with only 2 of you turning up.
