Partner hotels, do you still pay for parking?

We will be going back to Universal in winter 2018.

We learned our lesson from our last trip and will be buying a Universal package. However, we want to stay at a partner hotel.

The perks for the partner hotel says we still get the early admission to WWofHP. But does that mean we still have to pay to park at Universal? Last year it was $20 a day and that seems a bit over the top to me if I'm buying a package.

If we do have to pay to park, are there any suggestions to getting there early? Uber? The Orlando bus system?

Thanks in advance!

I think most partner hotels have a shuttle to take you to Universal for free I don't know if the partner hotels charge to park but if you take your car I an almost 100% sure you have to pay to park at the garages. Have you thought about staying onsite at Cabana bay?

We have thought about it. It would only be an extra $250 total. However, we like that the partner hotel offers free parking and free daily breakfast. It helps save a little money and time for us.

Do you think it would be worth it that much to switch?

there are ways to save money like taking breakfast cereal and getting milk as the rooms have a fridge and cabana bay family rooms do have microwaves

At least check the pricing. Add $12 to the rate to cover the parking at CBBR and see if it isn't a better price than the partner. Often it is. Stay more than three nights and you get the stay more save more rate which is better than my AP rate

Is the $12 for the whole stay or just per night?

Overnight Guest Parking
Self parking, $12 plus tax per night, per vehicle.

Thanks for the heads up! We will only be going to the theme parks 2 days but will be staying at the hotel for 6 nights. It makes more financial sense to just fork out the $20/day garage parking.

Thank you both for your help!

Id still stay at CBBR over a partner hotel, especially if you are staying 6 nights. The amenities are just better. The pools are amazing, the lazy river. the rooms are bigger. quick walk/bus ride to CityWalk or other resorts.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, we are not pool people. I feel like a $12 a day parking charge is an obnoxious up-change for a package. Plus we are really splurging the week after at our Disney resort and all the "extras" we are adding to our vacation. When we go to Orlando we really only use the hotel to sleep in and shower. As long as it is a clean room we are happy guests!
