Parks Predictions Thread

Both water parks will close permanently.

Animal Kingdom will lose its animals. Then close entirely.

End of Disney’s International & College Programs.

Projects that require vertical construction and not just show installation upgrades & refresh, that aren’t begun this year, won’t happen.

Some project a small but dedicated team cooks up by raiding the warehouse of old stuff is wildly successful because it is whimsical, authentic and sincere. (Think Festival of the Lion King at AK as a placeholder.)

Hey, this is the prediction thread and the storms (both literal and metaphorical) that are brewing will be century level historical is my primary prediction. How does a company survive when resources not only become too costly, but effectively disappear?
Slow your roll. Disney is not going to lose near enough attendance for all that.

  • IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth will make a comeback like HEA but with improvements of course. Luminous just doesn't have that staying power.
  • Disney will get full rights to Marvel in Florida. Mission Space will close for good and Avengers: Infinity Defense will be built there next to the other Marvel ride.
  • Walt Disney - A Magical Life will also come to Orlando after it debuts in California soon. It's a Walt AA so for sure it will be popular. My guess is Hollywood Studios.

Things seem slow recently so I thought I'd try something new. (If a thread like this exists please direct me to it and I'll delete this one, didn't see one with search.)

This is the... Official Predictions Thread!

Post your predictions and, if they come true within the next decade, dig up your post and award yourself a picture of a giant trophy. I know people make predictions in various places but they tend to be scattered in other threads, so thought they could be consolidated here.
Here’s my Go at this!

This is more about a fun idea I would do as opposed to predictions. This is a positive take despite the general feeling of the company and where they currently are headed

1. Disney Announces Monorail upgrades - new trains, and a brand new line connecting from TTC to Hollywood Studios, AKL, Coronado Springs and back to the TTC

2. A 5th park in between Animal Kingdom and Palm golf course with a new resort in the park like Epic Universe (connecting a new monorail line here too

3. New attraction where Stitches Great Escape was

4. Disney reacquires Marvel rights to right of the Mississippi, uses animation courtyard to expand/create an avengers campus

5. Water Parks are sacrificed for operational costs (one less positive thing here)

  1. Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard beach will be permanently closed and demolished.
  2. A new water park will be announced with full on IP smothered all over it. The other remaining water park will then close.
  3. Once the effects of Epic finally kick in for management there will be a paniced set of refurbs over the next 3-5 years to try and not seem hopelesssly behind (Space Mountain, Spaceship Earth, Figment and minor enhancements to Soarin and Philharmagic). At a stretch Mission Space will get new screens and a new video again.
  4. I guess I have to also say Monorail updates. Although I never saw the current fleet having its life stretched this far but I suspect within a decade we'll finally start seeing replacements slowly rolling out. Zero other updates/improvements or extensions.
  5. No new parks (other than the waterpark mentioned above)
