Parks in October

Hi from Sooner land!! This is my first time to post so I hope I don't mess it up. We are a major Disney family and have been multiple times but, never in October. I have an idea of park hours but we were wondering about ride re-habs, weather, things like that. We are thinking of being there Oct. 20-22. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the boards! October is one of the best times as far as weather and crowds. Although the secret is out the crowds are still much better than other times of the year! Do not overlook the Free Dining plan that finishes Sept. 30th! If you could back up your vacation you could save a lot of money. See ya around!

Also! Hours are listed for the parks on the Disney website and look into the MNSSHP "Mickey's Not So Scarry Halloween Party" It is a separate tickey event on select nights in October from 7 to Midnight and it is a blast!!!

It is sooo much fun to see all of the kids dressed up in their costumes for MNSSHP!

I hope you have a great trip!!!

I've been there two of the last three Octobers, but not the most recent. Park Hours from what I can remember.

MK -- was 9-9 on nights there weren't MNSSHP. Maybe 9-10 on the weekend non MNSSHP, but closed at 6 the nights of the MNSSHP.

AK - was 9-5 daily.

EPCOT -- 9-7 FW, 11-9 WS.

Studios - 9-7:30 during week, 9-9? on the weekends.

That is the best recollection I can give you. We were mid-October three years ago like the 11-19th, and late October into November two years ago.

Weather - Mid-October was hot, hot, hot. Record heat. 100 degrees, 100% humidity. Much like our trip in early June 0f 05. Except not as much rain in October. It was cooler the end of October but still warm. High 70's and 80's if I recall. More pleasant.

Rehabs - The first year there seemed to be more stuff that was under rehab. Big Thunder Mtn, Tower of Terror, Swiss Family Treehouse. The second year the only thing I recall was Small World on rehab.

There were crowds on both trips. More so the earlier time frame as it was over the holiday (Columbus Day - I think) weekend. And with the park hours not being as long it seemed to make a difference.

I liked October, but I still think that early June is better. But I wouldn't hesitate to go back in October.

I love Disney World in October. Since more schools are scheduling fall breaks, the attendance is picking up but is still nothing like spring break. Expect a handful of attractions to be down for rehabs but it shouldn't spoil things for you. It is possible that one of the water parks will go down for the month as well, though unlikely. If it happens, the other one will be open. I agree with the others that MNSSHP is worth going to. It thrilled my 3 yr. old daughter to be dressed up like Snow White and then have the "real" Snow White stop in the middle of the Halloween parade and kiss her on the cheek!

I was there in Oct of 2004, and it was great. That time of year is still hurricane season, so you might get some rain, and thunderstorms. Luckily on my visit I did not see a drop of rain, and the weather was in the mid 90's. Also, be sure to check out Mickey's not so scary Halloween party, it's a good time to get to ride a lot of Magic Kingdoms top rides, with little to no wait times. I would defiantly go back in Oct

I was there this past October 2005 (10-22 thru 10-30). Weather was really humid (like summer!) I was actually thinking October would not be as humid as it was, but after Hurricane Wilma blew thru it cooled down tremendously and was great the rest of our trip (no more mugginess :sohappy: ) Also was very crowded at this time but again I think Hurricane Wilma had a lot to do with this. We talked to some folks who lived down around Miami and they decided to come up and spend some time at Disney since Hurricane Wilma was coming. I think most of southern Florida did the same, but that didn't stop our having fun!:D

I love going in the fall. I've been in September and October and enjoy October a little more. The weather is still HOT (being MA anything above 70 is hot). This October it was about 90 everyday we were there 15-23. Crowds were kind of light. Every major attraction (excpet Soarin) was about a 20 min wait and most were even less than that. Make sure you hit MNSSHP! It was great. You can do almost every attraction in that amount of time.

Free Dining Plan?

You have to be kidding! You have not heard of this yet? You need to contact one of the Kingdom Konsultants that are on this site! As of April 4th the public has been offered FREE dining plan with the purchase of the Magic Your Way Vacation Package for stays that start between Aug. 13th to Sept. 30th!

I got this last year and it saved us about $94 / day technically (price of plan) but after adding up receipts from the places we ate we actually saved about $150 / day average! We stayed 6 nights. And now Belle at KK has got us signed up again as of last night!!!!

:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: If you have any other questions feel free to PM me or talk with KK!
