From Disney's Quarterly Earning Report:
------------------------------
"Mr. Staggs said that attendance at Walt Disney World grew 18 percent last quarter and that room reservations were significantly higher than last year. International visitor attendance was up 20 percent."
-----------------------------
I can't help but wonder what all of the "Save Disney" fanatics are saying to this. For months now we have heard that the parks are in decline. The decline in attendence being one of the reasons sited as evidence of this suppossed decline.
The real underlying reason is - "Its Been The Economy Stupid." (Let's not forget fear of terrorism.) The economy bounces back, fears reduce, and people just can't keep themselves and their kids away from the Parks. Why, because they can't get the same experience anywhere else. The Disney Parks continue to be and will continue to be the "Place" to vacation. Meanwhile the investment in the parks has continued at a good pace during this downturn and recently bumped up to refelect the new eccomy and the fact that Disney has to stay one step ahead.
Thsi is where I say - "I told you so"
GO DISNEY!!
Only downside to this - I was enjoying having the parks all to myself on those empty days.
