Parking while off-site

Hello,

Me and my wife are staying off-site for the first time this May and I am wondering about parking.

Can you park for free at the downtown disney/pleasure island lots for free and then take the buses to the various parks?

I seem to remember having to pay for parking at epcot and magic kingdom, but I am not sure about the other lots, like typhoon lagoon?

You could but i dont think busses start running there till like 10 or 11

They no longer run buses between the parks and DTD precisely because people were doing that. Buses run from resorts to DTD, but not from parks.

Pay the $9.

Yes, parking is currently free at DTD. But they try to discourage parking there and going to the parks, where they charge for parking, by not having direct bus service between them.

Friends of ours live in Orlando, and they told us that the issue was the large numbers of locals who parked at DTD for the day, and then took the Disney buses to the parks. The DTD lots then had fewer parking spaces for the folks who drove there specifically to shop.

I figured people were doing this, we will actually be using dtd parking lot for shopping there and probably park at one of the parks for the day and use their transportation.
Does anyone know the cost of parking at TL?

Parking at the water parks is free as far as I know. I don't know if there are direct buses from the water parks to the theme parks though, I don't recall seeing any. That's why they need to expand the monorail.....oops, I guess that's for another thread, hehe.

Yes, parking at the water parks is free. There are no direct buses from the water parks to the major theme parks, probably for the same reason the buses from DTD to the major theme parks were discontinued.

I would not park at DTD. It's better to park at the Hotel Plaza Blvd. Hilton (plenty of free parking) and then catch the Hotel Plaza Blvd. bus to the parks and back. It's all free! :wave:
