Park reservation questions

I'm headed to Hawaii this spring with the wife and two young kids, and I'm trying to decide if I should break up the trip with a 3 night stop at Disneyland. Previously when we took our son, we really enjoyed that we could come and go between the parks and the Grand Californian, which really helped with a 17 month old who needed frequent breaks. Now that my daughter will be about 15 months old at the time of this trip, we'd like the same flexibility, but will this still work with the mandatory park reservations? Can I just reserve both parks for one day and come and go as we please as before, or does the reservation system lock us into a single park for a single day without the ability to re-enter? Without that flexibility, I don't think it would be worth our time and definitely not worth the money!

If you are saying you want to reserve both parks and decide later as to which park you go to, you cannot do this. There would be no need for a reservation system if this were the case.

If you get a park hopper, you can go to both parks but you have to wait until one pm to access the other park.

You can certainly get a park hopper ticket, but you have start in one park, and you can't hop to other park until 1:00 PM.

So, if you start in Disneyland, you have to stay there until 1:00. At 1:00 you can go to DCA. Then you can go back and forth as you please.

Thanks, that's pretty much what I wanted to know. My two young kids probably would need a rest well before 1:00 PM anyway.
