Park reservation questions

Two questions regarding park reservations. Do I need a park reservation if I have a meal reservation in a different park. That is, I'll be at Animal Kingdom on our first Sunday, but I'll be making dinner reservations at Epcot. Do I need to reserve the park to eat there?

Second question - I'm unable to add a second park to my day - I have the park hopper, what am I doing wrong

You make a single park reservation per day. If you have a hopper ticket, you can hop to a park after 2 pm without a reservation.

And just to add to this, you must tap into the park you have a reservation for before hopping.

You cannot skip going to your reserved park. If you change your mind in the morning, for example, you can try and change the reservation, otherwise you must at least enter the park you have reserved before hopping.

Oh, I see. That wasn't what we were planning but just in case that's good to know.

I'm note liking the whole park reservation thing as it removes some level of spontaneity but I don't think that will impact us too much
