Park hopper with reservation system

Hello! We are annual Disney visitors for the most part, but have only visited once amidst the pandemic. Our trip was less than stellar! We are trying again this November and I’m a little lost on how things are currently working (I know this can change on a dime!)
We have always purchased park hopper tickets and generally buy our tickets through a third party that has Disney official tickets. we have always been able to use our tickets exactly as purchased from Disney direct.
Our last trip park hopping wasn’t even allowed
I am wondering how it is working to park hop with the new reservation system and If the park hopper is even worth it (how likely is it that you can hop park to park with the limited entry).
Thanks so much for input!!!

We need time for things to happen.
At the moment, PH opens up at 2pm. Is it worth it? That depends on how you do Disney! ;) We have ALWAYS used the PH option. I just can't see planning my day based on the restaurant we want to eat at or vice versa.

We used it last year (in the midst of all this mess) and I think I was only upset about the timing once when we had to wait outside of EPCOT for 15-20 minutes for the window to open up.

Is it ideal? Definitely not, but based on the way we've always done it, Rope drop, eat lunch, go back to the room relax maybe swim and back out to another park, it really didn't mess things up too bad.

It does get in the way if you're in a park for rope drop and it starts getting way too busy and you decide to plan B it to another park, but honestly now a days where you going to go? It would just be another busy park.

Anyway, that's the long and short of it. Whether it's worth it is up to you. Hope that helps.

The only thing to add to the above is that you have to enter the park you had a reservation for before you can hop to another park.

If you planned on starting at MK and then hop to Epcot, but then decided you'd only do Epcot, you'd have to cancel the MK reservation and book Epcot. You couldn't just go to Epcot even if it's after the hopping window.

I have a booked for early February and I booked PH tix. On my last trip I did not opt for the PH option and found myself wanting to switch parks during the day and couldn't. I am hoping they extend the park hours for the week of my trip so that I will get as much time as I can in the parks I hop to.

To add, there hasn’t been a day so far where park hopping was unavailable, even where a park had no park reservations left. I think MK stopped people hopping to the park for a couple of hours on Oct 1st, but then was able to let them in.

For future reference, if you find yourself wanting to park-hop but only bought a base ticket, the Hopper option can be added to a ticket after the fact. Just stop by Guest Relations. It's a simple transaction.

When we went in April, we used PH and had no issues with it. We plan to get it again this summer and add our usual Water Parks to it as well (we didn't do that when we went in April as we stayed at YC and did not feel the need for it; it also wasn't as hot as it's going to be in this July).

Do you need to make a reservation at park "B" after doing park "A"?

Thanks!
