I have seen alot of these lately and was wondering if anyone has bought any on Ebay and if so do they think they saved any money at all on them?

Caveat Emptor (sp?) - let the buyer beware. I have heard both good and horror stories from online/eBay sales.

To me, it is not worth it. I'd rather pay a little extra or work for a discount some other way through a promotion.

It is your decision.

But understand this before you buy

There is no way to tell how many days remain on the hopper until you put it through the reader at the turnstile.

HI hope your well......... I have not bought any on ebay but have sold them twice. I can imagine there are horor stories because tickets can not be checked until you get there. I think the thing is not saving money but....... if your going for 2 days only and dont want to buy 4 day you can do that on ebay. But keep in mind, if you buy a four day pass (which dont expire ) you can use the remaining two days on your next visit.
Personally I would not buy em.. and I was even hesitant to sell them, I was afraid that something would go wrong and the buyer could even go as far as to say say they didnt work when they did! A risky situation either way.

Most of the ones I have seen say how many days they are for but I can see where someone could get screwed this way.

Tickets do not show how many days are remaining on the pass.

I tried selling some one time, but the bid did not get up to the original price. So, you can get them cheap, but it's a risky proposition. Not much you can do about it when you get to the turnstiles and you either can't get in or you're on the last day of what you were hoping was a 4-day hopper. I wouldn't buy them.

Buy them from Pam--Kingdom Konsultants.

Below is from an email that I received from WDW when I inquired about how many days I had left on my tickets...mind you this was in 10/01 so I am not sure if the information is still valid.

--------------------------------------

Thank you for contacting WALT DISNEY WORLD!

Guests with Park Hopper (PH) or Park Hopper PLUS (PHP) Passes often ask
how many
days they still have. If you have Passes from the "olden days" when
the Pass
was simply ink-stamped at the turnstile, you can just look at the Pass
and know
instantly. However, guests with "ATS" PH & PHP Passes (those with the
"scan
stripe" on the back) haven't been able to tell. Until now!

Please call (407) 827 - 4166 (you must press Option 2) for assistance.

Generally, it is possible to have the value of unused days on
previously
purchased admission tickets (which have no printed expiration date)
credited
toward the purchase of new multi-day ticket media.

Generally, it is possible to have the value of unused days on
previously-purchased admission tickets (which have no printed
expiration date)
credited toward the purchase of new multi-day ticket media.
Regrettably,
however, it is only possible for a specific determination to be made,
and the
exact credit value determined, when the tickets are presented in person
at any
theme park Guest Relations location. The representative you speak with
at that
time will be happy to evaluate your situation, explain your options,
and
complete the appropriate transaction.

We hope this information is helpful, and we look forward to future
opportunities
to entertain you.

DISNEY'S ANIMAL KINGDOM Theme Park will accept unused days on
previously-purchased WALT DISNEY WORLD multi-day Theme Park ticket
media (which
have no printed expiration date) regardless of the date of issue and
without any
additional cost to our Guests. However, it is now necessary for these
tickets
to be exchanged for the new, plastic media being used. Upon arrival
at any one
of our theme parks, simply present your existing passes to a cast
member at any
Guest Relations location. They will be happy to assist you.

We hope this information is helpful, and we look forward to future
opportunities
to entertain you.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact
us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number
if
applicable on all correspondence, and allow up to 72 hours for response
to
E-Mail.

Thank you - and have a DISNEY day!

I called the number and read to the CM the numbers on my ticket and they CM told me how many days/pluses were left.

WOW--you learn something new everyday.

But you still can't do this until you've bought and received tickets from Ebay.

Did they ask you any personal ID information? The tickets clearly say that they are non-transferable.

So if I buy an Ebay ticket from Billy Brown and call WDW to verify the ticket, the first thing they will ask is my name. They will know from the coding that it was originally sold to Billy. When I tell them my name is Laura, what will they do?

Hmmmm you got me there! :brick:

The tickets I asked about were purchased in my name, so I don't remember any issues at all during the phone conversation.

Unless you can say the tickets were given to you by a family member? Not knowing the correct name of the family member can be a problem I guess.....

Just watch the sellers ratings. If they sold a lot of Park Hoppers and people love the seller you might be fine. I only had one problem or confusion in all this time on ebay ( 3yrs)

I can't imagine that they could keep you from using a ticket even though you are not the "original" purchaser of the ticket. Unless it was somehow reported stolen of some other freak thing I can't see how they could stop you. They could have been bought for you as a gift.

Thing is, this is not something Disney goes looking for, much like police can't stop you only for not wearing a seat belt. However, if they pull you over for something else and you don't have the belt, you get a ticket for that, too.

It is highly unlikely you would be challenged re your tickets. (I know that I have successfully gone thru on my child's ticket--and he on mine)

However, it hardly seems worth the risk of having your tickets confiscated to save $10.

Tickets recieved as a gift should still have your name on them, just as my mother's name is on the airline ticket I bought for her.

Is it illegal to sell your park hoppers? I would think it is OK as long as you do not make a profit on them.

On a side note ...I got stopped coming back from N.C. last month in Mass. for doing 87 in a 65....I didnt have my belt on and the cop never said a thing. If he asked all I was going to say was that I had just taken it off to get my wallet out of my back pocket...... There is no way that I would risk going to Disney and not have passes that worked or were questionable. I just thought this might be a good thread because of how many I have seen on ebay lately and also from posts from people talking about trying to save money.

Before our last trip I checked out Ebay for tickets-it seemed they all sold for more than what they're worth (I figure each day is worth the face value of the ticket divided by the number of days on the ticket). You often see things sell on Ebay that go for higher prices than you could get by buying the old fashioned way.
