Park Greeter

Hey all.

My buddy has supposedly been informed that his CP operations role will be 'park greeter' at Downtown Disney. It's a long story how he found out. Does anybody know anything about this position? I don't remember park greeters there, but I guess the recruiter said that they were going to increase to number of them. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but could this possibly have anything to do with the rehab of PI?

Any info? Any thoughts?

Heh, I wanna hear that "long story". I'd pay a million bucks to know what I'm doing. It eats at me every second of the day. Is it something that is pre-assigned to me already or is it something they won't decide till right before I arrive?

Really long story made short:

This took place over 2-3 months...

My buddy was going to be a character. After deciding not to do it he found out that he was in going to be placed in operations. He assumed he would be at an attraction until the recruiter told him he was going to be a park greeter. Then he later found that he was going to be at Downtown Disney.

Not a great story, I know.
-----------

The relationship you have with your recruiter has a lot to do with it, but 99% of people don't know what (specifically) they are doing until they get down there.

Thank you for the info. I have assumed he will be at Pleasure Island. Anyone know anyone who did this at Downtown Disney?

According to those that I talk to, their vague comments have made it seem that all are pre-assigned. But I also know that some who are going down this Fall do not have a specific location yet.

There may be some departments that wait. But from the sources I've talked to, they seem to have an idea where a person will be placed during the interview. Sometimes other logistics will affect where a person is placed. My info may not be relevant with retail and food and beverage depts, I know least of these roles.

Joey-
You finally going?
Congrats! Let us know where you are when you get there.

You actually do get placed right after your interview and get accepted. You just do not find out until you actually get down to WDW, because many people do not show up, and many changes occur.

A Greeter is indeed a ticket-tearer, so he'll probably work the clubs.
and that is in operations? Because my description (Full Service F&B) also says I could be working at the clubs
weird

And
I dont have a recruiter...I did this all online. Perhaps I should call up and say hi  or something

Well in your situation you would be serving food. He would be stamping hands, checking IDs, and running tickets through the machines.
