Who or what company has the clout to take over Disney for themselves ? I once ran into Ludicrous and his posse during a Mickey's Christmas six years ago so he can't do it. President Trump taking his family to see the new Hall of Presidents preview ??

"On Thursday, November 30, Walt Disney World Cast Members celebrating a milestone service anniversary will attend a private event at Magic Kingdom Park from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. To ensure that there's enough time to prepare for this special event, Magic Kingdom Park will close at 4:30 p.m. on November 30. A special fireworks show will take place at 9:30 p.m. on November 30, but it will be exclusive to event attendees (it will be visible from surrounding hotels)." - Orlando Theme Park News

Disney has held private events for travel agents as part of their Authorized Disney Vacation Planner (EarMarked) Conference - but those are only in part of a park. For example, one year we had dinner and entertainment on the set of Lights! Motor! Action! followed by a dessert party and entertainment on the Streets of America ending with fireworks over the Chinese Theater. The LMA dinner began while the park was still open.

If you have cash, you can do it. Most companies seem to do it at DHS instead (probably much cheaper). It's not about clout, but about cash. Robert Kraft (owner of the New England Patriots) had Elton John do a private concert for 150 or so of his friends the other week, and had the Rolling Stones do it last year. If you can drop a reported $3 million for that, renting a theme park for a private party isn't out of the realm of possibility. Just a very different tax bracket than most of us reside in.

I’ve been to 2 different corporate events over the years that rented Animal Kingdom starting at dusk. In both cases there were food tables set up at key locations like in front of Flame Tree and all key attractions (none animal related due to darkness) were open and fully operating. It’s certainly not expensive but it does happen, for a price. Magic Kimgdom is the least likely to be chosen due to extremely high cost so nowadays, most will happen at AK and DHS.

Just got confirmation from my daughter who is in the Disney College program that the event is for Disney employees and families with employment anniversaries of 10-20-30 years. That's a pretty cool gesture.
One year at Universal I accidentally walked into a Microsoft event in a Loews hotel ballroom. We were already having dinner at Emeril's Tchoup Chop, and I got lost looking for a bathroom. Should have stayed there because it was loaded with top notch appetizers.
I also remember leaving Islands of Adventure one year and they were setting up tables in the middle of the street with "Private Event" signs on them.

Some large corporations have the money to spend on their employees if theyve had a productive year. DS works for a large company that had private events held for employees one year at DL and another was held at Uni. Other years they were given trips to various popular tourist sites around the country. Some corporations value the people who work for them and show their appreciation in a variety of ways. In the end it makes for happy workers who know they will be given these types of special bonuses if they work hard and produce.

After hours is one thing. During normal operating hours is an other.

As a base price it would have to cover the salary of all employees that need to be working + offset any revenue that would have been generated during that time. Then you would have to add an additional amount on top of it to cover any sort of comps that guests may receive from the closing, and to cover the a general loss of revenue from guest dissatisfaction, poor reviews, and general internet complaining.

If it was anything but for a cast member party, I'd be pretty salty about it. (Universal Studious pulls this maird way more than WDW)

But cast members deserve it. Lett 'em have their shindig I says.

You can see a list here of all the locations in the parks that can be rented out for events.

I once attended a conference that rented out Epcot. Sit down Dinner at multiple venues inside the park, private showing of illuminations, rides open for conference attendees only (best part of it- almost zero wait times).

Can we note that during IAAPA, IAAPA itself rented out Pandora, Coca-Cola rented out DHS (Sunset Blvd and Aerosmith) and that a site like Orlando Informer or a company like Microsoft can rent out ALL of Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios so people CAN rent them out. So it's possible.
