Hi guys. Needing your help! Getting a bit down at the lack of Disney visits I've had the last couple of year and have decided to try and get a wee trip to Paris next month arranged. Here's the deal. Cos of my work and my girls uni and work commitments, plus tight budget!, we can only go for 2 days!

I can get the flights for just under £40 with Ryanair from Glasgow Prestwick to Beauvais. I've always flown into CDG before. What is the best way to get from the airport to Disneyland? Know its suggested getting the train to Paris and then out to Disneyland but it seems like it will take a while.

We arrive at Beauvais at 9.10 on the Tuesday and fly out at 22.50 on the Wednesday. Will be in France at least for 2 whole days but really want 2 days in the parks! Any suggestions are very welcome! Need someone who's done it before to help! Thanks in advance.

Don't Ryanair advertise Beauvais as their airport for Disneyland Paris? I think they used to - if they still do they may put on a shuttle bus. Can't say I've ever seen one though from the resort end.

Other than that, I would think that a hire car is going to be your quickest way, but Beauvais is quite a trek northwest of Paris, you'll drive past Charles de Gaulle to get to Disneyland!

just looking now - i dont think there is a direct service by the main carrier VEA, this is their site: http://www.vea.fr/uk/index.asp

word of advice : ryan air seems cheap, but the amount of hassle i have had with them in the past ive actually thought *sod it* and booked easyjet or BA. I think also you need to prepay your hold luggage for ryan air also... really not worth the hassle imho, if you do pick air france you would have to get to edinburgh as that where they fly from to get to paris. But remember that there are many other carriers you could choose from. I know with ba they will fly you to heathrow and then onto paris.
when i fly to paris i use air france :)

i think you would have to get a private taxi or hire a car. So i dont think it will work out all that much cheaper, remember that ryan air say they fly to a city but sometimes you have to travel for more then 1 hour to actually get to your final destination.

edit - ba fly direct to charles de gaulle from edinburgh :)

I did look at that but the flights were over £300. On a tight budget. Have used Ryanair in the past to other destinations and they have been great. Thought at £40, which includes the £7 for a piece in the hold I couldnt go wrong. Starting to think its now gonna be near to £300 if I need to hire a car!

hmmmm what dates and who is going? i was getting the sum of £78 per adult when i wrote my essay aboce

still there is £21 difference between each adult, i agree it maybe a bit steep but if your taking kids the last thing you want is to be stuck in a taxi with them shouting *are we nearlly there yet* :p

Or you could see about flying to london on the cheap and getting eurostar :sohappy: which you can do it seems - but it looks like the best way to get a discount in that light is to have a specific train to catch - so you would be scuppered if, god forbid you run into problems at the airport.... and it does seem alot more exspensive then what i initially predicted.

we flew out with easy jet to cdg then got the vea shuttle to disney then had to wait at the main station at the terminal to then get our shuttle coach (which we had to wait 45 min for then another hour going round every terminla at the airport) took another hour)to out hotel Holiday inn! this from the airport to out hotel took about 2 and half hours! on out return we got the shuttle from hotel to the park then asked at the railway station if there was a direct journey to cdg airport which there now is! it took ten minutes from terminla to airport about £6 each and we went first class! it only goes to terminla 2 i think but then you can just walk to which ever terminla you want to go to
So next time we fly to cgd we are catching the trian to the dlrp terminal then the disney shuttle to the hotel and saving a load of money and getting into the park about 2 hours quicker!

Hi

Have a look at a post I made on another site

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=1664391&postcount=26

It details how to get to DLP from Beauvais. Hopefully it helps. :)

I might as well re post it all here.

This first part is really a background report on how to get to DLP without breaking the bank.

When we came back from our second trip to Orlando in September, we knew we couldn’t wait long for our next Disney fix. We booked pretty soon after coming home to go back to Orlando next August / September.

That obviously wouldn’t be soon enough for a visit to the mouse, after a long discussion..
Me :”Do you want to go to Disneyland Paris?”
Tracy: “Don’t ask stupid questions”
I was on the internet checking out prices. After a quick search it appeared that we could do the whole trip for easily less than £400

www.disneylandparis.com was the first port of call, after a bit of investigating I found out that the best (i.e. Cheapest ) time to go was around the 10th January.
They were offering an extra day and night free and free child places (no use to us yet).

We decided to wait and see if any further offers came up as it was the quietest time of the year at DLP

Flights were booked first courtesy of www.ryanair.com £0.99p per person going and £0.01p coming back. A grand total of £2.00 for 2 return flights to Paris from Prestwick (Glasgow).
Well after taxes it came to £53.38 still a bargain for 2 returns (It would cost us that for the coach to London.

Onboard the shiny yellor Ryanair plane.

Anyone who has flown Ryanair to Paris will know that they fly to Beauvais about 100km to the south west of Paris.
We don’t drive so therefore had to try and organise some form of transportation to get us to Disneyland Paris which is about 130km away from the airport..

A quick look at http://www.aeroportbeauvais.com/index.php?lang=eng showed that you could get a coach from Beauvais airport to the Port Malliot district in the centre of Paris. It is right beside the huge hotel Concorde so is pretty easy to find for your return journey.

DSC05829.jpg

The picture above is of the Hotel Concorde where the coach drops you off

This was 13 euros per person each way so the total was 52 euros or £35.

The coach picks up from just outside the airport, turn right as you exit. There is also a kiosk there where you can buy tickets for the coach if you haven’t already purchased them.

Then came the most stressful part of the planning, trying to figure out how to get from where the bus would drop us off to the Disneyland Paris Resort. Eventually I found http://www.ratp.info/informer/anglais/index.php and figured out that we had to get the train from the Charles de Gaulle Etoile RER station to Marne-La-Vallee – Chessy

I tried to find out the prices of the RER before we left but I couldn’t find them anywhere.
The prices were infact 6,20 euro per person each way. So a total of 28,80 euro or £20

I knew that we would have to walk a little distance to Charles de Gaulle Etoile from the bus drop off point at Port Malliot, but wasn’t sure quite how far. As it turned out it is only a 10 minute walk up the Av. DE LA GRANDE ARMEE (This street is full of car showrooms that look like actual shops, and thousands of motorbikes lining the pavement) and the station is right beside the Arc De Triomphe so it was really easy to find.

Map showing locations of coach stop and RER station

A little tip for anyone planning to use the RER is to print of the map at http://www.ratp.info/orienter/f_plan...pdf=rer&fm=gif and take it with you it shows all the stations and is a good reference for ensuring you are going the correct way.

Also always check the big destination signs on the station platforms, the are pretty easy to understand. If the lights are showing beside a destination the next train will be going to, or passing through there.

Another thing to remember when using the RER is to always keep hold of your tickets as you can’t get out of the station without them.

The RER trains final stop is Disneyland Paris. You exit the station right beside Disney Village and the resort buses.

Finally just before Christmas, www.disneylandparis.com were running an offer of 15% off of bookings for certain dates, as luck would have it the dates we needed were included in the offer. The Hotel Santa Fe was booked for 4 nights / 5 days inclusive of theme park tickets for £246.50

Flights £53.38
Coach £35.00
RER £20.00
Hotel / Tickets £246.50

Total £354.88
