Parade question: Stars and Cars

Isn't this parade daily at MGM? When I looked under "events and entertainment" for May dates, I don't see it listed anywhere. Has this parade been eliminated? Are the Share A Dream parade and Jammin Jungle (at AK) the only afternoon parades now?

It's every day...the website is messed...as usual. They list Fantasmic! at...what...5:30 and 9? You can't have Fantasmic! at 5:30:) Therefore, Stars and Cars will be at 5:30 those days. It seems it's always 3½ hours before the first Fantasmic!...

Thanks, DogsRule! I didn't think there could be a Fantasmic so early, but I can't believe the mistakes they post! A company the size of Disney, with their reputation for attention to detail, should not be overlooking their web site. It's interesting... I wrote them an email explaining that they still talked about early entry under their Magic Kingdom touring tips, and one other mistake I noticed that I can't remember now, and I see that they fixed the mistakes, but they never even acknowledged my email to them!

Hey LoriL when you get back please post and let me know how this parade is. I was curious about if we would get to see it as well, but looks like we will since it was thier error! I just wish they would add some more night parades to MK! I mean we will be there 10 days and so far we will only catch it once and that is if they have it that Sat. in June! My kids love that parade so they better have it or we will be seriously disappointed!

I know what you mean. We are there for 8 nights (4/27-5/5) and there are only fireworks at the MK on 2 of those nights, only 1 E-ride night, and only 2 night parades at the MK during that entire time. I was hoping for some more choices (my parents are coming for the beginning of our vacation so that my husband and I can have some time together to do stuff we can't do with our little boy, but the E-ride night is at the end of the week so we will have to miss it)!

I'll try to take a few notes so that I can report back. I've been planning this for about three months, and it's hard to believe that we are actually leaving-- finally!-- a week from Saturday! And now it's 90 degrees in NJ!

I know what you mean...hit 89 here in the midwest yesterday and today. Disney actually called me today in response to an email I sent them. They told me that they might be adding more evening parades in the next two weeks and possibly some eride nights because they have been getting alot of complaints about the park hours and parade scheduels. Hope you all have fun and I cant wait to get the scoop :)

Don't give up!
The Stars and Motorcars parade is really neat! Make sure you get a curbside seat, where you can get lots of pics...The cars are awesome, and themed so well, and there atr TONS of characters to get pics of...including Mike and Sulley from Monsters...There is also a Chracter greeting with them across from the commisary...its kind of hidden, so ask a CM if you cant find it...Sulley is really cool close up....There are lots of characters around the hat too....Get a pic with Mary Poppins and Bert if ya can...;)
Their car, along with the one for Mermaid are my 2 favs......:)

while I do like Stars and Cars, definitely do not miss Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade! I think it's the second best parade on property (nothing could ever beat SpectroMagic! in my mind...I will always have a special place for it)! It's great! Awesome music, innovative floats, great puppets, all the characters, and if you stay in Africa, you can see it twice b/c it starts and ends there!

All of the new parades are pretty darn neat. I wouldn't miss Jammin Jungle. I thought Stars & Cars would be better as well as Share a Dream. I saw all of the new parades during mob scenes between Christmas and New Year's. That may have been what detracted me from S&C and SaD.

If you have seen Tapestry as Tapestry of Nations, you don't miss a lot if you don't see Tapestry of Dreams. It's basically the same parade.

Most afternoon parades are at 3 or 4. Tapestry about 6 and 8. The 2.5 hours before Fantasmic for a parade I don't know about. I don't think parades ever ran at 4:30 or 5 in MGM.

MGM parades have been at about 5 or 5:30 in the summer for a few years now...I don't honestly know why they make it so late when the other parades never really move in time slot. Share a Dream is at 3 pm, Jammin' Jungle is at 4, Stars and Cars of course fluctuates, and Tapestry is at 6:30 and 8:10...I personally like Tapestry, but agree it's basically the same thing it's been the last 3 years...I just like the music:).

well i like stars and motorcars the best followed by share a dream come true. nest in line would be jammin jungle and then tapestry of dreams.

of course this alligns with my favorite parks being MGM, then MK, followed by---in a distant third animal kingdom, and epcot a solid 4th place. epcot is just boring to me. but to each his own and it is all about what makes you the happiest.
