The absolutely best point and shoot currently available is the Sony RX100, superior low light ability, and great manual controls.
The next best is the new Panasonic Lumix LX7 -- which replaced the LX5 a few weeks ago.
The next tier is a group of cameras that are virtually identical, among them the Canon s95, s90, the Panasonic Lumix LX5, LX3
The reality is, ALL of them are great at Walt Disney World. You are never going to truly do any low-light shooting there. At night everything is so brightly neon lit that shots looks stunning, and all of the cameras have good low light capability. The Canon s95 is particularly versatile since it is so small, and quite cheap.
The video quality is good on all of them. The Canon, Sony, and Panasonic video are all good. The one caveat here is that Panasonic uses its own video codex, so its harder to work with once you have it in camera and want to do any editing or work on your computer. Its do-able, but requires additional software.
Checkout sites like dpreview for camera comparisons -- but seriously, for WDW, you don't have to worry too much about the differences between any of these cameras.
I have used all of them at one point or another. I would recommend against the LX5, 3 or 7, mostly because they are larger and aren't really pocketable -- the others are smaller and easier to carry around. I prefer to put my camera in a cargo pants pocket and go -- you can not do that with the Lumix LX3/5/7 line.
I currently use the Sony RX100 and the results at WDW have been stunning. For the past two years, I used the Canon s95 there. The reality is, you can't tell the difference between shots from either of these cameras, or my dSLR the quality is so good these days.
If you want the latest and greatest with the most amazing image quality, the RX100 is the way to go. If you want a small compact camera that takes amazing shots at a low price, then the Canon s95 is the way to go.
