Pal Mickey, the interactive toy that serves as Guests' interactive tour guide in the Walt Disney World theme parks, is available to Cast Members through a special offer this month in celebration of the toy's first anniversary.

Cast Members or Cast Members' spouses or domestic partners with valid Main Gate or Silver Passes visiting any of the four Walt Disney World theme parks through May 29 may rent one Pal Mickey for the day, free of charge.

Pal Mickey will be available for pick-up between 9 a.m. and noon each day at the following theme park locations, while supplies last:

-- Magic Kingdom Park: Main Street Cinema Merchandise shop
-- Epcot: Gateway Gifts Merchandise shop
-- Disney-MGM Studios: Darkroom Merchandise shop
-- Disney's Animal Kingdom: Outpost Merchandise shop

To utilize this offer, Cast Members must present a valid Walt Disney World ID, or Main Gate or Silver Pass. Cast Members or their spouses or domestic partners also will be asked to provide a signature, the Cast Member's department, location, contact number and leader's name. Toys must be returned to the original pick up location, on the same day, prior to the park's closing time.

This offer is limited to one Pal Mickey per Cast Member (or eligible spouse or domestic partner) per day during the duration of the offer.

Yes they're available to buy for $50 I think.

Actually what Pal Mickey does is there's a sensor thing build in his nose and downloads information from different sattelite things placed in different areas of the parks. If Pal Mickey has something to tell you about a park or attraction, he'll giggle/vibrate to get your attention. He also reminds you about the parades and things like that. And if new information is available when you visit the parks, it is automatically downloaded into Pal Mickey when you walk through the gates. If that doesn't work, you just take him to a shop that sells him and they'll hook him up to a computer to download the info for you.

It's a pretty neat concept for both park newbies and even vetrans. I heard they might be making a Goofy version as well.

Now if they made a Tigger version... I would DEFINTELY buy that one!

Whoa that sounds so cool. So it still works when you leave the parks and go to, say DC?

Search around, there are several threads explaining the full details of Pal Mick
