Paintbrushes

Do they still put the paintbrushes out on Tom Sawyers Island? I have seen it mentioned on an older thread but wondered if any recent visitors have found them. We looked in 2005 but couldn't find any, this was around 10.30 am. Guess the early bird gets the worm.

Yest the do but you need to be on the first boat over in order to find one. The first boat leaves at 10:00 AM.

Someone else will be able to give a full answer. Each day paintbrushes are placed somewhere on Tom Sawyer Island. Whoever finds one and brings it to a CM gets (here's where my explanation is lacking) something... I forget...

Anyone help me out?:lookaroun

I'm sure I read it on a thread in the "secrets" that if you collect a paintbrush and take it to CM you get a fastpass, think for one use only. Have tried to find it on here but no luck:hammer: . Will look again

I have heard about this also, but am not sure what the prize is for finding one. I have always wanted to try it, but we seem to always have a hard time getting three kids moving early enough in the morning.

If you find a paintbrush you will get a fast pass for either Splash Mountain or BTMRR. If the CM is feeling generous he/she will give you one for each.

I read about this recently, and am not sure if they still do it either. On my next trip in a few weeks we were going to try to wake up Tink, but I've heard her store is closed for refurbishment. Also, that is probably reserved for children. My group is all in their 20's, and we're just big kids =)

I think we'll head straight for the island and hope to get the first boat across! I have seen a picture on a messageboard once of the paintbrush finding fastpass - it doesn't look like the normal ones. I would keep mine and scrapbook it rather than use it. Ah...dreams =)

It is not. My wife has found a paintbrush before and turned it in.

I've never been on TSI in all my trips to WDW. For shame, me. For shame.

I might have to give it a try this time. I'm not a true Disney maniac until I do.

Got one!

I went to the Magic Kingdom this past Wednesday and I was able to get a paintbrush on Tom's Sawyer's Island.

The times guide said the island opened at 10, so we headed over around 9:40 and there were already people over there. When we boarded we asked the castmember rowing the boat and she said there were only a couple left to find still. When we were getting off the boat, 2 of the people in line to get back on had paintbrushes so we assumed there were none left.

On a little side path not too far from the dock though, we saw a green handle sticking out of a bush and there was a paintbrush! We all took a photo with it, and I took pictures of the fastpass we received too. They would not let us keep the fastpass when we turned it in to ride the big thunder mountain. We found it around 10:00 AM, and according to the CM it was the last one, so you really do have to get there early.

I'm still on the road driving back to Pennsylvania, but I will post pictures next week!

Wake up Tink? How and where do you do that? Never heard of it and I am a huge Tink fan. Anyone know?

If you are the first person into Tinkerbell's Treasures gift shop you will get to "wake up Tink". They give you a magic wand and you tap on this chest that she sleeps in 3 times and say "Wake Up Tink". Then you'll see the little ball of light go around the room & the music will play.

I was in Disney a few weeks ago and asked if adults could do it, and they said yes. You just have to be the very first person in the store. I've heard it gets out of hand w/some parents & kids but I don't know because I've never seen it. If you google it, you'll find some more info. Also, there's a video on YouTube of a woman doing it.
