The official startup has been announced on the schedule.

This may be the last chance to catch it before it goes away until the Main Street Electrical Parade stops running at Disneyland in 2017.

I will also be there that same night November 18! I'll go try to catch it!

Note, after Thanksgiving week, it goes to weekends only for two weekends (and Candlelight weekend only the late 10:45 PM parade), then back to 7 days a week from December 16th through ??? Maybe on January 1st, or they might run it one more week, the official schedule hasn't been listed yet. Also, O/T, but the Rose Bowl and Parade are on Monday, January 2nd in 2017. (They don't offer them on Sundays).

So 2 Christmas Parades in the afternoon, then the First Paint the Night at 6:45 PM. then Fireworks with the Snow effect and then the second showing on Peak days.

And there is a good chance of it also performing during the two weeks of the Peak Easter Break season.

They will probably run it until MSEP returns.

Can someone explain to me again why the MSEP is temporarily returning to DL? I still don't get it.

There are some logistical issues, including where to store the MSEP floats. So it depends on when the MSEP floats arrive at Disneyland. Some folks claim they can store both, but I doubt that is truly the facts, why would you want two nighttime only parade floats? So it looks like Easter Break would be the last chance for Paint the Night before they get shipped someone (and Orlando has a LOT more room to store things) than the craziness going on backstage at Disneyland, including the Star Wars Land construction. So sometime in the second half of April 2017 looks like the current end date

Is this guesswork? I thought everyone has been beating the drum that absolutely positively the parade will never be shipped to Orlando.

You are correct though, storage is an issue - but if one needs updating why would they need to store both backstage? Couldn't they ship one offsite somewhere for repairs and the like?

Simple, Marketing. Disney has no big event planned for Summer of 2017 (we all know what 2018 will be), so the two things to push will be the MSEP for Disneyland and the new Guardians Tower for DCA.

I'm sure Fantasmic 2.0 will get a big push as well. "Come check out two classic Disneyland nighttime offerings: one completed reinvented, one returning..."

...and Star Wars fireworks.

Problem is, the current return of the ROA is delayed due to construction issues, and might not open until July or August...... And SoCal Theme Parks main marketing push is May and June. We know that SFMM has announced its new dark ride, Knott's has something planned if the budget gets greenlighted, and Universal is rushing something. A weird year to be sure, but trying to get the most attention is the name of the game.

All I KNOW is the our friends in Orlando came out earlier this year to inspect and measure the floats, and they do have the facilities to do a refurb. As for what was decided, did Orlando get the work, or is it going to a third party to be done? I haven't heard yet....

There's a lot of misinformation going around, so let's get the record straight.

PTN is not moving to Orlando.

MSEP will run from January to June or so, to give PTN a needed refurb. There are costuming issues and other needs that have to be addressed. It is planned to return for summer and then stay well, forever.

MSEP is filler due to no Fantasmic, and it's looking more and more like Soundsational will be taking a break as well.

Thank you for summing it all up.

There are folks out there that just can't believe Orlando management is really being this cheap. I think it's just hard for some folks to wrap their head around the reality.

I like to pretend the great breakup of One Disney Parks has occurred and Disneyland asked for all their **** back.
That honestly seems like what happened. Disney's moving away from Disney Parks branding and it seems like Disneyland will be run more independently like it used to. Interesting days ahead nonetheless.
