So I'm reading...can my husband bring his camel back in with him and thinking...

"Her husband travels with a camel? If he wants to bring it BACK in it means they let him in once already with a camel so i guess the camel can go in again."

THEN she says it holds his water and I'm thinking "Holy Cow! Wouldn't a water bottle be easier, even a thermos or something!" :lookaroun

I suggest you leave the camel at home (though being a military camel he may be eligible for discounts)

To the OP....Yes you husband can bring it but I have found that they are not as convenient as one might think. I use one for mountain biking and while it was great when walking around the parks it kind of became a pain on attractions. It won't be any more difficult that a backpack but it is something to think about.

Lot's of people use camelbacks in the park, it's fine. You can also bring snacks and bottles of water and such as long as they aren't in a hard cooler, you can bring one of those soft lunch-boxish coolers in though. It's something I really suggest since eating in the park can really add up. I prefer to bring small snacks and my own water that way I can splurge on the one of a kind snacks or meals in the park instead of wasting money on bottled water and regular old snack food.

You can bring in any food and drink you want except for the following:
  • alcohol
  • glass containers (except baby food)
  • rolling coolers or hard-sided coolers

You can bring dinner for 12 if you really want to. Many of the guards doing bag checks at the entrances joke that the food people bring in looks and smeels better than their own brown-bag lunches.

You are not getting away with anything by taking meals into the parks.

We have brought water bottles, snacks and the such. Cheaper and easier to eat and walk. One of the checkers last year yelled at me for not having water...saying it was hot and I needed to stay hydrated. But my hubby had the backpack with several bhottles in it. She was then cool with it!:)
