www.savedisney.com has a link to an article saying that kids under seven aren't allowed to see the musical adaption of mary poppins! :fork: It says that several have been turned away. The reason is that some of the scenes are too "scary" basicly the scene where toys come to life. I mean really, out of all the scenes to be scared about... This is really sad. I hope Disney does something about this.

They based the Musical on the Novels and the Movie, and the Novels were pretty dark compared to the exceedingly cheery movie, not saying cheerys a bad thing.

I don't think they are being turned away, possibly advised against going as it is a VERY LONG time for a youngster to sit still and not annoy all the other theatre goers. Unless they have cut scenes from the performance I saw in Bristol, it runs the better part of three hours.

I don't see why a 7 year old kid would want to see a broadway style play. But that reminds me, the Lord of the Rings movies should have had intermissions. It's hard to sit 3 1/2 hours without using the restroom.
