Outfits and Disneybounding!

Hi all! Our trip is in 20 days now [eep!] and the stress of packing is starting to get to me. More importantly, what I want to wear. Of course, I want to look cute but be comfortable at the same time but I'm having a difficult time finding what I want to wear. I seem to be stuck with crop tops and flowy tank tops because apparently that's all stores come out with for teens nowadays. I miss the days when I could just wear clothes from Limited Too and Gap Kids and look super adorable.
More specifically, I'm having a difficult time finding cute Disney themed shirts. I've tried Macy's, the Disney Store, Target, forever 21 and have only found a few shirts that just don't appeal to me. So I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions!
Also, my sister and I hope to Disneybound as Anna and Elsa on one of our days to the MK [if you looked at us in real life, we kind of look like them together!]. I've been having a hard time finding a light blue dress that isn't too fancy or just a nicer shirt that is the color of Elsa's dress. Any suggestions would be awesome :D Thank you!

It might be cutting it close (time-wise), but if you are looking to save some money, you can try ebay and do a search for "Disney top lot." There is a wide variety from which to choose, in various sizes. In the alternative, if you can't find a good source for Disney tops, order some decals on Etsy to make your own, or just buy some cute Disney accessories (character headbands, scarves) and use them to "Disney-fy" otherwise neutral outfits.

I'd also suggest -- especially if you find that you're having trouble fitting everything into your luggage -- getting double-duty out of every outfit. Bring things that mix and match, enough for half of your visit, and do a quick load of laundry in the middle of the week. (If you're staying on property, Disney now has an app that will tell you what washers/dryers are available in your resort's laundry, notify you when your washing or drying cycle finishes, etc., so you can lounge by the pool in the interim.)

Have you checked any thrift shops for specific pieces for Anna/Elsa? Last Halloween I needed a Wendy costume to go with my daughter's Tinkerbell costume. The adult Wendy costumes I found were so expensive. And I just wanted more of a flowy blue dress rather than a costume. I ended up finding the perfect thing for next to nothing, in great condition, at a thrift store. It's obviously hit or miss, but for Disney bounding, it might be fun to look around there.

And ditto on Hot Topic for cute tee's. :)

Thank you for the great suggestion! I'm going to check out both and see how the shipping for each works. Unfortunately on top of it all my mail also always runs a few days late so anything I choose to order I often have to pay the extra amount to get expedited shipping if I'm on short notice! I now, I probably shouldn't have waited so long LOL!
Wow, that's a great idea, thank you so much! Do you know if this notification thing is on the MDE app or a different one?

I checked out Hot Topic and did find a few cute things!
I do have a very cute Elsa dress from Hot Topic that's a bit shorter and reimagined and not as done up, and that's actually what I wore for Halloween this past year. However, I'm a bit afraid with Disney's new costume policy they may say it qualifies as a costume so I didn't want to wear it. I've been looking all over for a more casual flowy blue dress though and for some reason every one I find is so fancy! lol
Thank you so much for the suggestion though! I wish we had some thrift shops around. The closest ones I know of are like 45 minutes away :(

You should be okay with your Elsa dress as long as it's not full length and isn't layered. I'm having the same issue for this fall. My daughter wants to be Anna & Elsa, and my son & husband were going to be Kristoff & Sven. But most of what I was considering would be full length or would be layered in some way (cape for example.) I'm thinking of going more in the direction of disney bounding, rather than costuming. I hope you find what you're looking for!

It is a bit layered, which is why I'm concerned.
Awh that's so cute!! Yeah, Disneybounding just seems like the safer option but then you have to go through the trouble of actually finding the pieces to put together. Thank you! :D

Do you have Marshalls/TJ Maxx's in your area? I live at those stores...can't remember the last time I bought something at a mall. They always have cute dresses (a lot under $20 and made with less material...hence why they are there and cheap haha!) More in the 'sundress' department so they're lighter and much more suitable for the battle against the weather at the parks. :p I wear dresses at the parks all the time...I actually prefer them! They are so flowy and freeing. :D

Seconding the thrift store suggestion! When my wife and I DBed as Snow White for Halloween we got some of our accessories from our local thrift store; we also got some random items on clearance from retail and discount stores and completed our outfits with items we already had.

If you are looking for non-DB clothing (theme park and character tshirts, etc.) a thrift store might also be a good place to look. We found lots of choices for a recent trip and ending up buying these for about $15 total:

Also consider looking in the men's and/or boys' sections. All of these came from the men's tshirt rack and were quite sturdy and comfortable.

I wish I had a sibling to Disneybound with me! Have fun!!

I do have a Marshalls nearby! Thanks os much for the suggestion, I never thought to look there! I've never worn dresses before to the parks [besides when I was super young], but am planning on packing a few as well as a couple of rompers this trip! I'm just so sick of wearing jean shorts.

Thanks so much for the suggestion! Those shirts are super cool! Unfortunately I don't have any thrift stores near me, but I wish I did!
Haha she was kind of reluctant at first pulling the whole "that's so stupid, we're not five anymore" thing, but I was like we're going to Disney! Everyone does it, and it's the only place where it's okay to act like a five year old. She's such a party pooper sometimes! :(

Rompers are super cute and I've done that too! Comfy and stylish and you don't have to worry about flashing anyone haha! The only thing is that it makes bathroom breaks a little annoying. :hilarious:
