Outer Rim Lounge

Is the outer rim lounge at the contemporary open to everyone or is it a club level lounge? My sister and I are doing a girls only trip. We're staying at the poly and have one night where we'll be back at the resort around 8 or so and we're thinking about doing a monorail pub crawl and want to have an idea of which places we plan to hit.

The Outer Rim is open to the public and can be found on the 4th floor, I think you might be thinking of the Top of the World members Lounge in the BLT (Bay Lake Tower). Recently I have noticed that OR has been closing early than they used to so your best bet would be the bar at the Wave on the ground floor which is a better night spot anyway.

Do you like The Wave better than the Outer Rim job? :p

I like both bars so when I do a monorail crawl I have a drink at each one.
What I like about the Outer Rim is the big windows with a view of the pool/dock/lake area.
This, of course, only matters if you are visiting during daylight hours. :)
After 8:00, I would stick with The Wave.

Monorail Crawl!? What is this interesting thing you speak of? Any suggestions of bars to hit at the other Monorail resorts stops? We are going in Janaury when park hours are shorter than usual and this would be a great idea. We have O'Hana reservations at 5:30pm on 01/27/2014 and would love to continue with this. :)

Start after dinner and have a Lapu Lapu at the Tambu Lounge right outside of O'Hana, then go to Grand Floridian - Mizner's Lounge ( I like the Grand Cocktail there). After that I usually take the monorail to the Contemporary, catch the boat to Wilderness Lodge and have a drink at Territory Lounge. Then head back to Contemporary and go to the Wave. Most people don't add on the WL, so you could skip it if you want, but if you have time I recommend it because WL is beautiful at night

We're staying at the poly so we're thinking about hitting tambu lounge 1st or last, the outer rim if it's open (or maybe even the bar at cali grill), the wave, minzer's, (and maybe even citricos bar if they're still open). If we end at tambu then that way once we're nice and happy feeling we're already at our home resort. If we were younger we might have considered including the pool bars just to say we actually hit them all but I don't think I'd be able to rally the next morning all that well lol. Once we'd been at the pool bar at the poly "liquid lunch" break from mk and when we jumped back on the monorail to go back to the mk the monorail was darn near an E ticket ride lol.

Couldn't have said it better myself! BTW my friend you are not alone in adding WL but then again I figured you wouldn't expect any less from me.

Just a quick bit of info since I noticed you were considering whether or not to start or finish at the Tambu Lounge. The majority of resort lounges along the monorail close anywhere from 9pm to 11pm except the Wave which tends to stay open late for the Night Owls. If this is to early for you then you may want to consider the Cresent Lake Pub Crawl or DTD.

The Wave always closed at 11pm when I was there… Maybe it has to do with attendance, as it was a ghost town.
