...this trip has been planned since, what, early in the summer? i've been working on itineraries for quite sometime now. making reservations. scouring the internet for information. etc.

but then all of a sudden...today...out of nowhere, i suddenly got SUPER excited about it! man oh man, i can't WAIT to take the kids and see the looks on their faces.

omg! between the rides, the character meets, the snacks (cupcakes!), the resort pool, penny press, pin trading! it is so real now. 19 days to go.

i swore this would be a one time thing for my family...we'll see. haha!

I don't like this post. I love it! I'm sure we all know that feeling where you come over all goosebumpy shaky and you are trying to get to sleep and get the quiet giggles. The day before we went last I was like that scene in Love Actually where Laura Linley hides on the stairs and does the super excited dance. I think part of it was because we hadn't told the kids, and didn't til our lift to the airport arrived. Have you thought about doing the inroom celebration package for when you arrive?
And I'm sure that once the bug has bitten you you'll find a way to make it back "home" :)

oh my...obviously i'm A LOT more excited than i think am...given that i read your message and nearly hopped out of bed yelling, wee! we're going to disney! lol.

i tried SO hard not to tell the kids but i ended up giving in and breaking the news. in retrospect, i really wish i hadn't..but...they get to do a bit of planning with me, so i guess...yeah..i wish i had kept it a secret, lol. they check my phone every day for my countdown calendar. it would have been so awesome to not tell them and just randomly show up at pop century.

since we are going in december, i've wondered how to go about handling christmas at home. santa won't be bringing much this year because this trip is a VERY expensive gift. but...the kids still believe in santa, so he needs to have at least some gifts on the way.

...cue my bright idea...

i am going to bring a bunch of disney related gifts, just cheap things, wrap them all up in christmas paper..dollar store balloons, streamers, confetti, candy canes, you name it. when we check into the hotel that morning, i'm going to tell my husband to take the kids and check out the pool. i'm going to sneak up to the room and go hog wild decorating it and pretending that santa just happened to pop by over night and left gifts to welcome us. the kids are going to go NUTS. eeeeee! now i'm squealing. haha. if i can't seem to break away from the kids long enough to pull it off, i'm going to ask a hotel employee to do it for me. i'll be sure to keep the confetti confined to the table to avoid ing off the housekeeper :)

and to make matters even better...

it's also my daughter's birthday. so...santa is also going to leave an oversized birthday card (man, i love the dollar store...) and disney gift cards.

I love all your ideas and your excitement! Have you considering having Santa leave a card explaining that the biggest gift they're getting is this fabulous vacation to share with one another? And that Santa was working with Mom all year on putting this present together for them? As a fellow Capricorn (Dec 26) I'm so very excited for your daughter!! What a great present!! Enjoy!
