Well, we’ve been home for just over a week now and unfortunately bought Covid back with us. We were quite poorly but can now start our trip report.
Just to remind you, we are sisters from the UK. I am Gillian(G) and Christine (C), both retired and big Disney fans.
We flew over on 3rd September with 5 nights at Universals Endless Summer Surfside again ( a favourite ) followed by 14 nights at the Wilderness Lodge for the 1st time.
Our flight over was as usual, long but comfy. We always find that Virgin Atlantic really look after you. With a great entertainment system and mostly edible food, including ice lollies , you can’t go wrong.
Arrival at MCO went much faster than usual within 45 minutes we had cleared immigration, claimed our luggage and had booked an Uber to our 1st hotel, arriving 25 minutes later. What’s even better is that we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom room with a kitchen area. A first for us.
Our view is the sister hotel,, Universals Dockside. These are considered budget hotels but seem a higher standard than that.
During our 5 nights here, we only did 1 day at Universal Studios as we did most of it 2 years ago. Even the new Epic Universe didn’t interest us as it’s mostly rollercoasters, which we don’t do. It was lovely to start our vacation so laid back. Our one day at the original Universal park was great.
Wasn’t so crowded.
Didn’t go on the Mummy ride, but met one in the shop
Looks a bit different from the real thing
Always a favourite
Named after us
It was great to go on our fave rides like ET & Minnions and the Horror Make-Up Show is a great laugh. We always love Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley too.
A brilliant place to eat is at the Hard Rock Cafe. They now take your photo as you enter.
Trying to look cool
The salmon was the best we have ever had.
