Our Very Merry Disneymoon PTR

Hello, this will be my first PTR, so bear with me:

This Post: The Basics and Intro

The cast:
Me: 29, Jennifer, this will be my 6th trip to WDW. All trips have been as an adult with DH only.
DH: 29, Doug. In addition to our 5 trips, he took a few trips as a child with his family, got to stay at the Poly (jealous!)

Our prior trips
Jan '03- My first trip EVER- All Star Music
Jan '04 - Magical Disney Proposal (We had a lot of stuff happen in life, so it ended up being a VERY long engagement) -All Star Music
Jun 04 - SWW, F&G - We got an incredible AP rate at POFQ..$74 a night!
Dec '07 - MVMCP, Osbourne, CP, etc - Good Old All Star Music
Oct '08 F&W, MNSSHP Pop Century

This Trip:
Date: 12/4-12/7
Accomodations: 7 lovely nights at Pop Century. We requested a King room. Hopefully they'll grant it since it *is* our Honeymoon. 5 of the nights are on the passholder rate. The last 2 are rack. I didn't want to split the ressie and risk having to switch rooms, so I ate the $50 rather than switching the last 2 nights to a PIN code. I figure that's well worth it for more time in the parks, etc.
Tickets: Annual Passes (non-Premium)
Dining: No Dining Plan, but we will buy a TIW card

Some pics of us from our proposal in jan '04 and sharing the last dance , "Wishes" at our wedding this past June: *** I'm not sure why the pics didn't work. This is my first attempt to post pics. Can anyone help?

The plan:

We are really not morning people, but I REALLY want to try to make it to rope drop this time. I made my plan by first deciding when the best time would be to see the nighttime shows, and then made ADRs and then tried to avoid morning EMH, etc.

Sunday 12/5 - After our arrival, I figure we'll be able to get to the parks by 1:30 PM. If our room is ready and we decide to go there first it might take a little longer. Out flight gets in a little after 11.

We'll head to Magic Kingdom. Something about our trip is not right until we're there. On our last trip we didn't get there until the 3rd or 4th day and it felt "off".

PM: By 4:30 we'll hop on a bus to DHS. I'm thinking of trying to catch the Osbourne lighting at 6, and then Fantasmic! at 8. We have an ADR for 9:20 at Sci Fi Dine in. After that we can try to ride RNRR and ToT if the lines aren't bad, or just enjoy the Osbourne lights (I absolutely LOVE them)

Monday, 12/5 - EPCOT - It's a thing. Our first morning/2nd day always has to be EPCOT. I love that entrance music . We have a 1:40 ADR at Tokyo Dining. We didn't book until August so I couldn't get Le Cellier, but I was thinking of trying for a walk in. it doesn't hurt to try. The worst they can do is say no and then we just walk over to Japan.

PM: We could stay at EPCOT but right now the plan is to go to MK for EMH and one of only 2 chances this week to see Wishes! and MSEP. They just extended the park hours for this day so EMH is until 1am. Maybe we can get dinner for right after Wishes while everything is still mobbed and then save the rides for later at night.

Tuesday 12/5
AM: Animal Kingdom. I chose this because either Tues or Thurs could be AK or DHS and I decided we should go to DHS on Thursday since they're closing early so the lines should be shortest of the week. So we'll be at AK through lunch (We have a 3pm at yak and yeti, but I'm hoping they will take us earlier so we can see the parade) , I suppose, then we'll take a break and head to

PM: Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party! I think we MIGHT have to get in line at 6 for the Dwarfs. I don't want to wait that long and I'm not generally a character stalker, but Snow White is my favorite movie and I still regret that I missed the photo op with them at MNSSHP when Dh and I were dressed as Snow White and her Prince. We've been to the party before. Since this may be our 3rd trip to MK in as many days, I'm not so concerned with rides and I'm going to try to enjoy the atmosphere.

Wednesday, 12/7 - Magic Kingdom - ordinarily I wouldn't do SO MUCH MK in a row, but we have a 9:55 ADR at CRT! I haven't been there since 2004, so it should be great!

PM: We have a 7:50 at Kona cafe (Ohana was booked). I figure we can check out all of the resort decor on the monorail look and/or watch the Holiday Wishes from the Beach at the Poly.

12/8- DHS. They're only open until 5 and no Osbourne nor Fantasmic! so I am thinking it will be a pretty uncrowded day. We have a 4:50 Dinner reservation at Boma, so we would be leaving the park by 4 anyway. At night we can A) Go to MK if we haven't seen Wishes and MSEP earlier in the week, B) Head to EPCOT since they close the latest or C) Go to DTD for shopping. I'm thinking C!

12/9 - I left this morning open. There will probably be something we want to repeat, or more likely, one morning we'll have failed to get up early, so we'll have something to do. Maybe we'll head back to AK since we so far only have one morning there. I just penciled that in, in fact.

PM: EPCOT for EMH. I know EPCOT's evening EMH are very crowded, but we really like evening EMH. Maybe I can get some Christmas shopping done at WS. I just booked an 8:30 ADR at Bistro De Paris. Does anyone know if you can see IllumiNations from the windows? is there something special I should request?

12/10- Going to the Touring Plans Meetup at Rope Drop. Got help me with getting DH up at 6am, especially if we end up at EPCOT until 12:30 the night before. Will probably leave MK shortly after the event since it's going to be an incredibly crowded day and I don't do crowds.

PM: We have a 3:40 Candlelight processional package at San Angel Inn. Will see IllimiNations tonight :-D We did the package so we could see NPH!

12/11 - Deprture day! (WAHHH). Usually we head to MK for the last few hours, but since this plan is one of the most MK-heavy trips I've ever done, maybe we'll be sick of it. It's also the first trip where we don't have Wishes! on our last night, BUT I think the Christmas IllumiNations will be a nice endcap.
Our flight is at 6 something PM and we usually take forever to pack, so we'll probably only get in a few hours.

Any thoughts?

My concerns are that it's a LOT of MK, especially the first few days. I hope we don't get sick of it. The bright side is we can really stop and explore MK. Our past few trips have been more full of other parks. Maybe I can enjoy the ambiance, etc. I want to try to see the flag retreat, for example, and maybe DH can get a haircut there.

I'm also not sure how to approach evening EMH at DHS. I'm afraid it's going to be mobbed and also that I'm going to have a hard time seeing Fantasmic!

Thanks for reading! I can't wait to break out our bride and groom mouse ears!

Hey :) Your plan sounds great to me. Don't worry if you have too much MK, if you get sick of it, you could always swing by the other parks. Only 5 more days, you must be sooo excited:ROFLOL: Have a great time and I look forward to reading the real Trip report -A
