Our Thanksgiving trip report

Got back home Monday PM and finally have a moment free to share a few highlights from our trip to the World.

Weather was downright chilly (45 degrees for a high) the first couple days, but it warmed up and was nice by the weekend. Gave me an excuse to buy a new sweatshirt!

Stayed at Caribben Beach. Requested and got a nice corner room in Jamaica (#4312) only a 2 minute walk to the bus stop and a 5 minute walk to the food court. Room was very clean and bright, Mousekeeping would arrange our stuffed animals in cute positions and we even got a couple towel animals - a bunny and a turkey. Wasn't real impressed with the bus service, though - I get the impression that Disney is following the corporate footstep of trying to do more work with less people. We actually had a contracted bus pick us up after Illuminations one night - the driver had no idea where he was going and finally dropped us all off in the middle of the Aruba parking lot and we walked back to our sections. Overall I'd give it an 8.

Had some really good food - I'll go into more detail on the dining boards. Suffice it to say the the Dining Plan worked out well for us.

Now for the attractions:
Pirates of the Caribbean - WOW! Loved the new updates with Jack and Barbosa. Had to ride it 2 times to make sure we didn't miss anything.

Soarin', TOT, Rock-N-Roller Coaster, Test Track, Mission:Space, Everest - all first time rides for us and we loved everything. Did RRC and Soarin' twice. Had a couple nice young men in our capsule at M:S that really got into the whole game and made the ride that much more enjoyable.

1st time on Space Mountain for DD; absolutely loved it and had to go back for a second run and managed to get a front car.

Crowds were horrendous - an hour or more wait for just about everything. Thank goodness for Fastpass - once we figured out that system we were able to avoid most of the lines. Takes a good bit of planning and crisscrossing the parks but it was worth it.

Mickey's Philharmagic and Fanatasmic - two of the best must see shows.

All in all, we had a good time. While we didn't get picked for any of the Million Dreams prizes, it still was a dream vacation for us. Now that I'm back to work, it almost feels like I never left!! So we'll just keep socking money away in the vacation club account and go back again in a couple years. Shooting for the Boardwalk next time.

TTFN.....

Thanks for the report.

We stayed at the CBR in 04 and loved it. We did not have a bussing problem as we were usually the third pick-up and usually the last. Off to the parks with no problem. 2007 can not come fast enough.
