Wednesday found us up early in anticipation of a long, fun filled day...we can sleep when we get back to NJ...a quick B'fast at LOF and a bus trip back to AK. At rope drop, we headed to our first FP+ of the day, Kilimanjaro Safaris. Just our luck, there were technical problems with several of the trucks, so the attraction was backed up, the lines were looong, and only open to FP+ holders. In addition, they were only letting guests with FP's at the beginning of the day in at allotted times, so we waited patiently with a few Dole whips. Once our time was called, as long as the line was, we only waited about 20 minutes to actually board the truck. There were about 10 CM's and supervisors keeping the lines in order and they were very informative and kept everything well under control. The animals were very active , more then we've seen in quite a while.
We then made our way to EE with only a 15 minute wait...I guess everyone was still in line at KS!! I know all the die-hards complain about the AA Yeti still out of commission, but EE is still one of the BEST rides in the World. The BEST was still yet to come...our first ride on Avatar: Flight of Passage. Again, the whole Pandora area is incredible, the sights during the day are something to see...I can't wait for our next trip to see it at night! We made our way thru the queue and boarded the ride. All I can see is that FOP is IMO, the BEST ride at Disney!! Think of Soarin' on steroids!! ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!! For those who haven't ridden FOP yet, you are "riding" on the back of a banshee thru the world of Pandora. You can actually "feel" the banshee breathing on your legs! Before you enter the queue, there is a mockup of the ride vehicle. Much has been said that certain body types will not be able to enjoy FOP because there is a back brace that keeps the rider "snug" against the vehicle. I think MOST guests will be able to enjoy FOP... Again, the BEST attraction in the World!!
We made our way back to AOA for some rest and laundry duty. Later that evening, we headed back to MK for our ADR dinner at Be Our Guest. We have eaten there on our last 2 trips and have always enjoyed our dinner. I have been reading comments about the quality going downhill...I always take those comments with a grain of salt and make up our own minds. I'm sad to say that some of those comments are correct.
I had one of my favs, Potato Leek soup...that was great, but the entrée left a bit to be desired. My entrée was the braised beef, my DW and oldest DD had the steaks and my youngest DD had the grilled chicken. The steaks were good, my braised beef was ok, but the grilled chicken looked like a piece of leather, very dry. My DD didn't even finish the meal. Desserts were ok as well, not the great ones we have had in the past. Even more disappointing was the service. VERY SLOW. I even had to call our server to our table on several occasions, including to ask for the check. It seemed as though she didn't want to take our payment. I guess the old saying is true..."Third time is a charm"...Next trip, BOG is out.
Since MK was open until 11, we wasted no time in getting to the attractions...Peter Pan, Pooh, Enchanted Tiki Room, still a favorite show for us and CBJ...there were actually good crowds in both attractions, the guests were into it and the CM's were into it as well making for enjoyable shows.
REAL desserts, Dole whip floats, and another ride on PotC and JC (which is better at night). Some shopping at the Emporium on the way out and another day was in the books.
