Our first trip to Disneyland!

DH has been talking about spending his vacation (mid April) at Disneyland and visiting some friends in California. I thought our vacation was doomed since nothing was planned.....until tonight! We finally made our flight reservations and bought tickets!:sohappy: We will be spending 3 days in the parks (April 18-20) then will head to San Fransico for the weekend to visit friends.

It looks like we will be staying at the Annabella Hotel. We didn't book it yet, but it looks very nice. Has anyone stayed there before?

Also, does anyone have any advice on the best way to get to/from the airport? We will be flying into Orange County (SNA).

If you're coming in during "non-rush hour" times, the easiest way is to follow the signs out of SNA to the 55 North, then take the 5 North to Disney Way or Harbor Blvd. The whole drive should be less than 20 minutes from the Airport to Disneyland.

If you're coming in during "rush hour" that still may be the easiest way, but expect that 55 freeway to suck. Then the drive might be an hour. :brick:

(I have no idea about the hotel, I usually check on tripadvisor.com and read what people complain about to get an idea on those kinda things)

I'm not good with directions, but Orange County airport is great! It's small, simple, and close to the DLR.

I have to agree with Terminus, the 5 and 55 can be terrible during rush hour (actually, any free way in CA is like that). I have found that the worst times to drive on them are from 3-8 PM. If that is avoidable, then you'll have no problem getting to the DLR.

edit: You picked some great days to go to Disneyland. Avoiding weekends and holidays is the best way to go.

I don't know when the rest of SoCal is out for Spring/Easter break, but I'm out from the 6th-15th. If that is how it is for the rest of the schools in the area, then there shouldn't be any crowds for you. Does anyone know if schools are out the 15th-22nd?

Thanks for the driving advice, but do you happen to know if there are any shuttles or buses that we can take. I don't think that we will rent a car since we will be spending all of our time in the parks.
