Our first Disneyland trip

Hello everyone! We returned last Saturday from our 4 days in the Disneyland parks, and I thought I would share our experiences and thoughts.
We chose to stay at the Sheraton Park resort, due to,the fact the Disney hotels seemed overpriced and Sheraton had good rates and I earn points. About a 3 block straight walt to the parks....overall good hotel and location.
Day 1- California Adventure...all I knew about is park was its past history of not knowing what it was suppose to be and the new Carsland. Went to the gate for a regular time opening , made it to RSR fastpass, got 3 for 11:30-12:30. The went exploring...overall love the feeling of the park! Thought Bugsland and Aviator section felt like walkthroughs , but every park has those sections. Hollywood looked great, just needs to find its speciality also. Aladdin was superior! It was my 5 yr old son's first real theater type experience and he loved it! The whole cast was wonderful...but the Genie our day was off the charts. I have never heard my son laugh so hard! Paradise Pierwas like taking a step back in time...I felt like a child again, to the point of riding the coaster at the age of 56!
That area is beautifully done and pure magic. Had lunch at the Winery, while it is pricey...the atmosphere is wonderful, we felt transported from the park and the outdoor dining was so nice. Now on to Radiator Springs....it was UNBELIEVABLE !!! I am a Visual Director , ad have seen a lot of beautiful and creative things...but never have I felt like I walked into a movie! From the first step onto the road I was blown alway...everything was there! The mountains were stunning , Mater and Lightening coasting down the road, Flo's, Filmore's , it's all there! The RSR ride was perfect! We had a fastpass so we went right on and the family loved every minute if the experience. I completely understand the wait lines for this ride. Maters Jamboree was fun and Lugi's , once you figure it out is fun also...only about a 5-15 minute wait .
Sorry this is all run together but I have to much running thru my mind that I want to write! LOL.
To end this first installment , I have to make this comment....I also follow the WDW forums as I live in the south and WDW is very accessible for us. I have read a lot about WDW rumored to be receiving Carsland and all the negative views that it was not wanted....let me say, those WDW followers should do anything that can to encourage Carsland in Florida. I am sure Californians want to keep it their very own prize, and I don't blame you. But what a refreshing 12 acres of fun and memories Florida could have! All I can say to WDW followers that oppose it...Don't bash it till you live it !

3 more days to write about...later!

By the way..prefect time to go! Last of April /first of May.....weather prefect...except for the fact Friday May 3 hit 93 degrees, thought I was back in the south....just no humidity !

Yes, we had a "Santa Ana" condition here in SoCal that week. A bit of wind, hot air blowing down. Anaheim is close enough to the coast that it doesn't get the extreme heat that the inland valleys get during Santa Anas.

You're making me excited to go see the new Carsland. I haven't been up to DLR since Carsland was built. My husband loves that movie. It sounds like he will enjoy the area, and the new ride. Fastpass sounds like it's the way to go on RSR?

I'm so jealous that Luigi's was only a 15 minute wait for you! I, too, enjoyed it... but it was always more like 40-60 minute waits or it didn't open at park opening for whatever reason.
